• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... 2021 SX-P - AWD - Vibration (caught on Microphone)

I'm surprised they are willing to send an engineer from CA to NJ to spend some time with my vehicle.
it is something like a district manager. they are scattered throughout the country and are responsible for the region near the place of residence.

Yea so the Kia supervisor said that those DMs are fully Kia employees and not dealer paid.

So the difference of outcomes with this issue is due to different DMs tackling said issue.

Any updates?
Negative.

With the holidays and New Year they said wait until next week for updates.

The SM said one of a few things will happen - Kia will send a field engineer out...or they will send a Picoscope out to the SM to use and really start diagnosing the issue. Kia Tech Line and Kia Consumer Affairs are running the show now.

For the mechanically inclined following this thread I've been doing some testing to narrow things down more.

When I am at higher RPMs it's there but less noticeable. When I'm in the MPH range and I'm between 1,500 - 2k RPM it's absolutely the worst...hence why it's a lot more worse during deceleration. Any thoughts?

Given this post on the megathread: Vibration

It appears that RPM has a direct correlation to acceleration and deceleration as well as an ideal operating angle. So at some point if the conditions or a bad shaft or coupling create a less than optimal operating angle then I could see your observations as being in line with the details in that post if the RPMs change or the operating angle is less than optimal.

I’m with @NCTelly; either alignment or out of balance but that’s all pure speculation on my part

That makes sense. It has to happen just at the right moment...and I'm getting very good at making it occur. When the SM takes it out on a picoscope I'm hoping he lets me drive it.

On a side note the rattling from my second row vent is back. Just keeps coming out of the clip. At least I've isolated it at this point. Still frustrating!

Alright so I kept pressing them for an update, finally got one.

Multiple Kia Techs, the SM, and some senior folks from Kia Consumer Affairs are having a conference call about my "issue" - blows my mind that many folks need to have a chat on a potentially known issue...

Let the SM (who seems like a smart mechanic) just try to diagnose/fix the damn issue...I don't get why Kia has so many hurdles.

Kia HQ determined without a Picscope, or a Field Tech inspecting the vehicle that the vehicle is operating normally.
The recording, my videos - nothing held any weight with them.

They concluded the case closed from a repair respective when an overweight Hyundai Mobis employee deemed the vibration as "normal" for all Hyundai and Kia vehicles.

Kia HQ actually said the company does not believe in Picocopes for assessing vehicle vibrations - honestly folks Kia is a joke...I thought they would overtake Honda and Toyota but let's be honest it's not happening in our lifetimes.

@JerseySXP ,
how is the process going? there are changes?

Maybe it is the tires being out of round. The SXPs with tow seem to have Michelin Primacy LTX's. Is that what you have?

Years ago I had issues with a brand new Acura MDX, which turned out to be defective tires.

Any updates on this issue?
