2022 for MSRP in Michigan? (Or Northern OH or IN)

Hello,

Any recommendations for a dealer who will sell/order a 2022 Telluride S at MSRP in Michigan? (Also open to Northern Ohio or Indiana) Dealt with a couple in the metro-Detroit area and they want over MSRP. Not doing that. Seems short-sighted in my mind for short term profit and upsetting customers.

Thanks in advance!

Serra Kia in Romeo,MI can order at MSRP.
They are relatively smaller dealership, so there allotments may be limited. However, it shouldn’t be significant wait compared with the SX trim. Good luck🤞🏼

I'm not sure the "check is in the mail" but thanks for telling them you saw my post. They were great to work with and super helpful and communicative. We love our car so far. So looking forward to having AWD again when the snow starts sticking around.
JRob, Please send me your info so I can make sure I get a check sent out to you when the order is picked up 989-415-4960

Ordered from Lafontaine Kia in July. They have my order on the lot but are refusing to sell at the agreed upon MSRP. They are holding at the +$5k. I have reordered at another dealer that has a track record of delivering upon their commitment on selling at MSRP. Shady and sucks that I am now going to be close to a year to get my new vehicle. Lessons learned on my side too but I recommend to avoid.
Who did you end up reordering with?

Damn that really sucks, good for you standing your ground...glad I didn't order from them. Sad thing is some idiot will pay that $5k and keep the cycle going.

They were recommended to us through a family connection when we couldn’t find a dealer selling at MSRP in Chicago. Fortunately we found John Plewka at Classic Kia in Waukegan IL through this forum and while we are stuck waiting it is already a much more pleasant experience.

Just placed an order with Lucas at the Kia dealer in Muncie, IN for MSRP. $500 refundable deposit. Couldn’t have been easier.

JRob, I took your advise and called Tiffany at McDonald Kia in Saginaw. She was very knowledgable and confirmed they sell at MSRP. I mentioned I got her name from someone at an online Telluride Forum. Sounds like when I place an order in a few weeks, you'll be getting a 'referral' check in the mail from her! Thanks for passing along her information.
I'm considering purchasing a Telluride from McDonald Kia. Has your Telluride arrived yet? Any changes in your confidence of this dealership? Thanks.

Mare1, I ended up ordering from Sera Kia in Romeo. I'd have no reservations ordering from McDonald Kia, Sera was just local for me. Not sure if it matters, but I like the idea of having my vehicle serviced from the same dealer I buy from too. As a side note, my wait with Sera is looking to take longer as they are a lower volume dealer than MacDonald. Good luck to you!

I just ordered from Tiffany at McDonald. Very fast and easy. they get a good volume through so it could be faster that others. IT all depends on what you order and what the factory is making and planning to send out to certain areas. I was told as many as 6-8 months but they could have it in 4 months. Trim levels and options you add to it make a difference. They do it at MSRP + $995 for a dealer allocation fee (or something like that). You get the car you want saved for you and they make money. I am very pleased with the way they explained and treated me.

This is J & P Arnold that ordered our vehicle from you in June and you delivered it to us in TC in August. Thanks.

I'm in Lansing and I am looking for a AWD EX with the Towing Package and Cross Bars. Whos my best option for a MSRP deal close to me? I also have a Costco discount. Kia of Lansing wanted a $3k markup.

I liked Kia of Lansing a few years ago, however, will never buy from them again due to their poor business practice of charging over MSRP. One saleswoman quoted me $3K markup and another (a male) told me $1500. I really wanted to buy locally to keep the tax dollars close to home. But no way! Seelye of Battle Creek was a $5k markup! Tiffany at Kia of Saginaw (McDonald) is $995 over. They call it a "dealer incurred cost!" Serra Kia in Washington, MI. has a $499 required add-on. The add-on is an interior/exterior spray (ResistAll). I ended up ordering from Serra Kia. So technically I still paid over MSRP, but at least I got something in return. Although ResistAll is overpriced and unnecessary:)

Not a bad move, like you said, at least you get something out of it.
Kia of Muncie (Indiana) is the way to go if you don’t want to pay over MSRP. I haven’t heard of other places staying at MSRP other than I place in Denver but can’t confirm.

And what really sealed the deal is that they have a Telluride, that was just picked up by Kia, that the buyer backed out of. What kind of paperwork should I ask for from the dealership to secure that I will actually get first dibs?

Deposit down with the vehicles VIN would be the best way to go.

If you don’t mind a 3 hour drive Kia of Muncie does MSRP and the Costco discount, which is around $1000 depending on trim. You won’t be disappointed with Muncie. Long wait though…good luck finding MSRP in Michigan.

I'm working on finding the best deal near me on a Telluride S AWD. I'm on the west side of metro Detroit. Dealers and respective mark-ups below:
Feldman Kia of Novi: $5k
Glassman Kia (Southfield): $5k
Kia of Canton: $3.5k
Summit Place Kia (Auburn Hills): Awaiting response

I'll keep posting as I investigate further. I'll keep Muncie in mind too.

I went through the same thing in Indiana when I bought my SX. I placed an order through Muncie after calling every dealer in Indianapolis and a few others. My wait time then was 8-9 months. In the meantime I found a dealer in Florida who would sell at MSRP with no add ons. They also shipped at that price so I ordered with them and got my car in 2 months. I canceled my Munice order and got my deposit back. This was no problem. Munice was easy to deal with.

Thanks for your reply. Would you mind sharing the dealer you ended up purchasing from in FL?
