2022 Pictures?

A small part of me is laughing at this. There was nothing wrong with the old logo. But y’all had to go bougie… you got your wish for a new logo, and got monkey pawed in the process.

The new logo isn’t bad itself (although, honestly, I still prefer the old logo) but the huge size and bright white color on the Nightfall makes it look hideous. And that new hexagonal “outline” on the rear hatch to accommodate the new logo? Awful.

Is is worth giving up a wonderful car because its new logo is ugly? Absolutely not. But, on the other hand, I’m pretty glad I got a ‘21 right now.

Might be the camera angle or lens or an illusion with the bigger logo badge, but did the " T E L L U R I D E " get smaller, lower and narrower? I agree that things were in better proportion with the previous design. Not a dealbreaker or anything but 🤔

The rear is so less attractive. Very dissappointed! How could they screw this up so bad? It looks like the KIA logo is jealous of the word Telluride.

Talk about ruining the Nightfall. People bought for the blacked out look. Whoever decided to slap on a gigantic chrome Kia badge needs to be fired. Whoever approved the final design also needs to be fired. Seems the better solution is to save by foregoing Nightfall and finding an aftermarket solution with the savings.
So on the 22’ NF this logo won’t be blacked out?

Depends on whether or not this meets your definition of blacked out. I’m guessing it doesn’t…

I really don’t like that against the black. Will have see if it can be painted in some way when I get mine.

Some more pics.

Just black em out.
What doesnt make sense is spending 1400 for a package that supposedly blacks out all chrome and then have a large ugly chrome badge added to the vehicle. Hoping this is a temporary solution for supply chain issues on a darkened version of the new symbol and not wanting to stop production/shipments in the meanwhile.

Re: New Badging With NF

I certainly can understand the frustration that people ordered something and are now going to be getting something different than what they expected.

That said, the NF package really is defined by Kia. They don't specifically call it the blackout package. Really, they're not promising a total blackout, it's Nightfall. There's still some light at nightfall. The trim isn't black, it's darkened, etc.

I remember Explorer sports getting blackout accents but still had brushed aluminum wheels. They gave themselves some wiggle room. Now, if you're going to call it the Black Edition like they do on the Pilot, you'd better bring the black.

Having said all that, I do not like the tailgate design with the changes. I can stomach the new logo on the front. The new logo definitely fits better with the design aesthetics of the new models like Sorento and K5 imo. Telly doesn't have the body to pull off that style of logo. Of course, I don't think it has the body to pull off wolf gray either. But that's just my opinion.

Also appears they still have the chrome exhaust tips on the 2022 NF...should be black as well. Oh well.

I disagree. While these obviously aren't 2021's, Kia has yet to publicly announce or update their site to reflect the 2022 model. Their website clearly states, "The highly awarded Telluride now comes finished in a sleek all-black Nightfall edition". Additionally, under options the Nightfall package clearly states exterior badging, Nightfall Edition. People bought the Telluride specifically for the all black look. Slapping the same large satin badge from the standard model goes against the entire design element of the Nightfall and why it was created/offered.

SX Nightfall Edition Package+$1,295
  • Includes:
  • Nightfall Edition Black Exterior Trim
  • 20-inch Alloy Wheels, Nightfall Edition
  • Front Grille, Nightfall Edition
  • Front and Rear Skid Plate, Nightfall Edition
  • Exterior Badging, Nightfall Edition
  • Window Surround, Nightfall Edition
  • LED Projector Beam Headlights, Nightfall Edition
  • Front Fog Lights, LED Nightfall Edition
  • Low Profile Roof Rails, Nightfall Edition
  • Front Bumper Air Duct, Nightfall Edition
  • Lower Door Moulding, Nightfall Edition
  • Door Handles, Body Color

Unfortunately, this seems to be how Kia operates. There are certainly growing pains. I'm sure they're adjusting to people lusting after their product. Wasn't long ago that if you were looking for a Kia, you showed up and they had 50 of the model you were interested in lined up at a heavy discount.

They kinda did the same thing last year where the model year change announcements were staggered and sloppy. Like I said, they can call it what they want and change what they want. It just sucks for the people who aren't getting what they expected.

I'm guessing there are cost/supply things that come up which necessitate changes to keep pumping them out. Just because Kia is building essentially the same product, it doesn't mean their parts suppliers aren't incurring cost increases that get pushed on to Kia.

I don’t know if it’s incompetence or arrogance, the least they could do is update the model brochure and website.
I’m sure someone will come out with decent aftermarket badges. Hopefully they’re affixed with adhesive and not body clips.

Gravity Gray non-nightfall.

Appears to be SX-P+T (tough to know for sure without the trim badge - EX AWD gets blacked out rims too, right?), which is exactly what I have ordered.

With this color and non-nightfall, I personally think it looks great. I never liked the old Kia logo though.

Ok. Looking at the photos coming in and it appears that the new logo is not chrome. Same with other models appearing with the new logo. Curious if anyone has an idea, if not chrome, the color? Maybe someone has seen a Carnival? Have a WG EXP on order and think it may blend well on the tail. Wishful thinking.

Nice! Which one did you get? And how long ago did you order?
Hi. I ordered a '21 on April 19, 2021. My sales person called me last Wednesday to let me know I was getting a 2022 and ETA is June 24. Confirmed the VIN on failcat and Steve confirmed the ETA date. Ordered a Prestige NF Ebony Black. That's why I'm so disappointed by the chrome logo. LOLOL, I had already reserved a my license tag to say BLCKASFK....And it was APPROVED! I know...I'm juvenile. My husband says I need to grow up.

Lol well you can still black out the logos with a little plasti-dip!
