• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I am not sure where to post this so I am starting a new thread. I originally ordered an SX-P-T on 02/04/2021 for MSRP + $695.00 with a $500.00 NON REFUNDABLE deposit. Did not make KFOS before 2021 shut down. Not a problem. Just got a call from the dealer today informing me I am their first in line for a 2022, but they are now going to charge me MSRP + $2000.00. Before I start any dealer bashing or going to "Bad Dealer Experience" thread I would like to hear what others think????

Sounds questionable to me. I put down a $500 refundable deposit. Especially since it's not refundable....what was the point, if not to at least lock in the price...unless that was the price increase from Kia

We ordered in early May and were told it would be the 2022 model...so we're waiting as well. I haven't been given any update on time frame or price changes.

This sounds totally and completely unethical to me.

Yes, the kind of thing a car dealer would do…

Looks like a double post. I wonder if the difference is accounting for the destination fee.

Yes.,..some will do, but not all. I purchased my 2020 SX ( fully loaded) in late October of 19 when they were VERY hard to get and this one was "incoming"......dealer sold it to me for $100 UNDER msrp. I told them that in 52 years of buying new cars I had never even paid MSRP say nothing about over.....that was true and it worked!

I agree, it isn’t all car dealers, but in this specific case, if they agreed on a price vs. MSRP, they should stand by that relative price. If they won’t do that, I’d demand my non-refundable deposit back, order elsewhere, service elsewhere, and trash them mercilessly.

Ask them for an itemized breakdown of all costs to you.

_______ MSRP +
_______ +
_______ +
_______ +
_______ Bullshit Documentation Fee (varies by State, some get into the mid-hundreds) +
_______ Tax +
_______ Title +
_______ License =

======== Out-the-door price

If you see any suspicious line items like "Nitrogen-Filled Tires" or "Electronic Filing Fee"
or "Security Package" (totally unnecessary etching of the VIN on the windows, etc.) or mysterious useless leather treatments or unnecessary exterior "protection", "coatings" or "pin-striping"...

Find a more honest dealership.

You can also ask them to cut out all the BS and give you MSRP + Bullshit Doc Fee + TTL =

My dealership is one of the few selling at MSRP. No games or gimmicks and everything delivered as promised, EXCEPT for the finance guy who was a little pushy attempting to upsell the various protection packages. It’s widely understood that dealerships can sell a car at little to no profit because the bulk of their profit comes from the higher margin extras like financing and leather protection packages. No thanks, I will either do it myself or take it to a specialist of my choosing.

Having fun breaking-in the Panda Telly?

I remember those days, mileage in the two digits, three digits several months ago 🥳

Just put in my order for a '22 SX prestige nightfall today. Dealer said we had 18 orders ahead of us. Can't wait. I wonder how long it will be before we actually get the vehicle?

It really is a quiet and smooth ride. I finally convinced the wife to allow for a vinyl wrap (only between the roof rails) to complete the look. I’d also like to tint the front side windows to match the back. She’s not happy about any type of customization, but I think it adds to the character of the vehicle. We are planning a 5.5 hour drive from Philly to Boston to look at colleges for my oldest son, so I will get a chance to see how it performs on an actual road trip. Happy so far!

You might get a ‘23. Lol!

I highly recommend that you don't let up on that tinting part of the plan. Pretty amazing difference that the wife and I are realizing over the last few weeks. Not one of the "gadgetry" type items I keep finding myself compelled to purchase! LOL

Agreed, tinting side windows is a no-brainer, I've done it in every vehicle for the past 20 years. You don't get the nighttime headlight glare from the side mirrors; I never find myself needing to pull out the visor and swing it around. And visibility doesn't really suffer at all.

That being said, I've never tinted a windshield and I'm tempted to (maybe 20 or 30%?).

Do you have before and after pics of the vinyl wrapped roof? I’m thinking of doing that to complete my Panda look. That, and blackout the door handles.

Unfortunately I haven’t followed up on the vinyl wrap yet. I’ll see if I can locate some pics from this forum that demonstrate the look I’m going after. But like I said, my wife is not keen on customizing so I must tread cautiously.

Awesome! Thank you for the pics! Yeah my boyfriend could care less about cars. I have a Subaru wrx too that has a lot of aftermarket stuff and he just thinks I’m wasting my money, so I get it.
