• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... IMO, the extended warranty is a cash grab at the dealership. I've never bought, or needed one on any vehicle. Like any insurance policy it's a gamble but based on service reports etc I'm willing to take that chance.

Same. When we picked up our car, we were offered all sorts of different warranties but denied them all.

Honestly, back in the day I would have scoffed at extended warranties ... but these cars nowadays are rolling computers in automotive form. I have considered it in my mind.

I would be wary of dealership products though ... there used to be 3rd party warranties, not sure how viable they are currently. Something to research while I'm waiting ...

The dealer has someone who's job it is to sell you all kinds of things before you leave, completely indépendant of the sales rep. They make a small fortune from extended warranty, rust protection and the most ridiculous waste of money, anti theft engraving. They also really want you to finance through them because they make $ from that too. These are all huge money makers for the dealer.

Caveat emptor.
