If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... 2022 Telluride Options Awful in CANADA

Hi,

I totally agree with you, that's a shame we can't get the same colors / interiors options here in Canada.
That being said I decided to go with a GWP Nightfall for the following reasons:
  • Nappa leather: I have Nappa leather in my KIA Stinger GT Limited. I love it but when I looked at a Telluride Nightfall interior in person I wasn't able to tell a difference with the leather I have in my Stinger. I you research Nappa leather you'll see there is no "certified" or "approved" process behind Nappa leather. At the end of the day they could just say "premium leather" and that would be the exact same thing. So any manufacturer can do what they want and say it's "Nappa".
  • Headliner: the fabric used in a SX Limited feels definitively more premium. Again I have the same thing in my Stinger and it's beautiful. But I think the headliner of the Nightfall it's still very nice. I think this type of alcantara fabric offers a real benefit when used for surfaces you're actually in contact with. I used to have alcantara seats in my Subaru STI 2008 and it was very comfortable. The contact with the skin was actually more comfortable than leather in my opinion. Since we don't touch headliners (at least I don't :p) I don't think that's a big issue not having that in the Nightfall.
  • Mags: I really prefer the mags of the Nightfall edition (by a lot!). If the Nightfall didn't exist I would have buy a new set of mags because I really don't like the ones that come with the SX Limited. For me they are more suited for a design like the one of the Hyundai Palissade. On a more "boxxy" look like the Telluride I think the more offroad look of the Nightfall mags is well suited. Of course you can buy new mags but for 20", if you're looking for something nice you'll have to pay probably more than the Nightfall package.
  • Blacked-out accents: same comment for me as for the mags. I really like the black chome and the black grille. Yes you can wrap those on a SX Limited but I think it just doesn't worth the trouble considering you can get the Nightfall and considering Nappa and headliner are not such important things (in my opinion)
  • Front-grille: one thing the Nightfall edition offers is a more aggressive front grille. Not something you can easily "fix" on the SX Limited. Personally I really prefer that grille that gives a more "offroader" look to the Telluride.
  • Black leather only: ok I was very disappointed with this one. Ideally I would have take the dune interior. But again for me the mags, front grille and the blacked accents are way more important. I think the black interior will be easier to keep clean at least.
So that's the reason why I decided to go with the Nightfall edition. It's a very personal choice obviously and again I would have been great to have more options in Canada.

Note: sorry for my english, not my first language ;)
Thanks for your post. It made me feel a bit better lol.

First off! Your English is perfectly fine and there's never a need for you or anyone else to apologize for that.

I completely agree with what you've stated about all of the options. I decided on the nightsky for the exact same reasons as you described. Not to mention, my wife likes the look of the nightsky much better.

I've heard mixed opinions on the nappa vs standard leather. Some say it is far more comfortable and some say it's not. I'll take your word for it as you know first hand.

The only big disappointment is the dune brown interior as it is a stunning contrast to both the wolf grey and gwp. In the US the dune is only available in the nappa.

I would have a big decision to make if they do release a dune brown in the next few months when the website finally updates. Do I cancel and re order or just stick with the standard black?

I'll put the drama for me to rest. I need a newer vehicle sooner than later.

With this chip shortage and uncertainty and end of days, cats and dogs living together ... I'll keep my place in line and hope for a car in November rather than take a chance at cancelling and reordering.

I can live without nappa and prem headliner. It's not going to ruin my day.

I need to focus more on getting another dedicated set of black rims and tires ...

I agree with you as I'm also needing the vehicle sooner rather than later. I'm happy that I was at least able to order wolf grey and not have to wait longer.

Speaking of chips, I watched a behind the scenes look as to how Intel fabs produce the semi conductor chips. It literally takes six months to produce one wafer. In order to increase production in the US, Intel is investing 20 Billion into building two more plants in Arizona. It could be another three to five years before production catches up.

I can honestly see vehicle prices across the board drastically increasing until then.

Some serious politics too.

That yuge Arizona investment is Taiwan semiconductor.

Of which maintains that frosty relationship between the us and china since china feels that Taiwan is part of China. They just don't agree with that lol.

Secondly, there was some interview with Elon musk about "why don't you build your own chips ..." And he replied that even if they completely stopped everything and just went over time on ramping up production and building an appropriate chip facility - it would take at least 18 months.

So he said forget it - it's just not realistic.

So, buy your ps5 or Xbox or electronics or car now before Christmas ...

Got my '22 gg sxl nightsky last Thursday. It's nice. Crapload of electronics everywhere. Wished it came with the nappa though.

I definitely recommend watching some YouTube vids about accessing all the settings and options on the car.

Just ordered some tuxmats. Thinking of plastidipping the front and rear badging ....
