• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... This is with the SX 20” black finish (Nightfall Edition Exclusive) rims and 245/50R20 tires. I will eventually upgrade the tires to something slightly more aggressive once the current treads wear out. Once the new tires are on, they will help fill the space the kit created. I do understand that it may look slightly odd at the moment, but trust the plan. The recommended size with these rims on the 2.5” lift kit would be 265/50R20. Enjoy!

I don’t understand! Why? Not hating, I literally just don’t understand why you would want to do this?

I will probably do this also, since I like higher rides. I currently have a 2020 Telluride LX and have 265/60 R18 on my leased vehicle just for this reason.

Higher ground clearance has a number of benefits. Easier to get in and out of for some people, easier to get up and down a steep driveway, better handling in some weather, better off-road terrain obstacle clearance, higher road visibility, and ability to put on bigger tires for more grip and ride comfort.

I understand that you may feel this way if you are wanting your Telluride to be used for city or light off-road use. My goal for this vehicle is to have a very versatile suv that will will have the luxury, sport, and all-terrain capabilities. I plan on taking my Telluride to places that will require a higher ground clearance. I do not want to have to worry about tire rub by the bigger tires or my underside being banged up. Hope I could help you understand my goal.

Do it! I love sitting higher in this car. My ride comfort hasn’t changed at all with the TRUXXX lift kit. Smooth as ever.

Gotcha!! That’s sounds like a good plan. Would love to do what you did with the exhaust but have no skills in installation. Keep us updated with your specs.

Thanks! The exhaust installation only requires two bolts, and a few hangers to deal with. With two people to deal with the weight of the exhaust itself, I am certain anyone at any skill could install it. I didn’t use the recommended silicone spray to help remove the metal hangers from the rubber holders, making it much more difficult for me, but if you use that, you should be good. Just be sure to use a torque wrench to tighten the bolts at 34lbs.

Nice. You are the first to post pics of the 2.5" lift. Do you have any more pics?

It also looks like the shock extenders that come with the new kits have resolved the sagging issue.

Thanks. TRUXXX did let me know I am one of the few at the moment with the new kit installed. I haven’t had any issues and just took it in for my 500 mile checkup since installation. With this type of kit, it is recommended to bring it in yearly for a quick look to make sure everything is still tight. Here are some more pics.

Thanks for the heads up to check your post. Did you install or have it installed? Dealer? Anything concern of dealer saying anything?

I had them installed by a local 4X4 truck customization and parts shop. It is important to have a proper alignment done after a lift installation, so I highly recommend a place that is equipped to align a lifted a Telluride. My dealer was going to install them, but was dragging their feet. I have no concerns with warranty if that is your question. Here is a site that can help you understand the laws surrounding aftermarket parts.

Auto Warranties and Service Contracts

The key take away is, “But, before they can deny warranty coverage, the manufacturer or dealer must first prove the aftermarket or recycled part caused the needed repairs.”

Any thoughts/recommendations on running larger rims and tires on the 2.5 inch lift kit?
I just purchased the 2.5 inch lift kit and now I'm looking for new rims and tires to fill the gap and give it a little more lift (really like the higher ride).

I found this website that gives you recommended wheel and tire sizes based on your vehicle, suspension lift, amount of trimming and amount of rubbing. I am thinking of installing 22x9x35 rims with 265/35R/22 tires.

Thanks in advance for the help. Love this forum!

Congrats on the purchase, you will love the height that you will get off that kit. I unfortunately do not have enough knowledge to recommend the proper size. My installer used some software to figure the max size for 20’s, which was inline with the TRUXXX recommended tire size.
For me, going any larger on the rims would defeat my purpose of getting it lifted and being able to take this off-road with more aggressive tires.
You can also reach out to TRUXXX and get their opinion. They are super friendly and helpful.

Only if this is the look you’re going for. A lift kit is to improve off road performance, 265 35s will have the opposite effect.041468CF-8DF9-4770-BA9A-FDF2877EE4F7.webp

Hey BhardiSXP, just ran across this thread. Been thinking about this kit and see that you have had it now for about 6 months. Any update? Have you ran into any issues? Still loving it?

Terribly sorry for overlooking your question. I have 20k miles on my Telly now. My rear passenger tire well area will have a slight speaker feedback sound if my cargo area is weighed down. I do not suspect the kit has caused this, and believe that it’s the shock. I am going to take it in and have it taken care of. I will update the post with the results. I am still loving the kit and height. I would still recommend it for anyone that could utilize the height.

Thanks for sharing your changes.

Couple questions unrelated to the lift

1. What’s the benefit you are seeking with the pedal commander? I’m guessing you are racing your telly? Do you use eco mode?

2. Tuxmats - I’ve been looking for mats that will give me best overal protection - especially from my kids in the back. Are tuxmats the best option? And do they still look decent?

3. How’s the magic box? Looks slick but could also see it being finicky. Does it require regular messing around?

4. What’s the grille mesh on the inside for?

5. What did you use to blackout the emblem? How did it go and would you recommend same or different?

6. What’s this Canadian liner I keep hearing about? I’m CDN but haven’t seen it. Why is it so popular and where y’all getting them?

Thanks in advance.
