• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... 2023 Kia Telluride Discussion

Anyone have any idea how long it takes for a specific vehicle to show up at the dealer once it hits Failcat? Mine just popped up on there yesterday, and trying to guesstimate how long until I can take delivery.

Your dealer should have an ETA. With that said I think it’s usually less than 30 days from the time it hits failcat.

Today my dealer, which thus far had not been able to provide any information on updating my 9 month old 2022 order to a 2023, said that on 10/25/2022 Kia will update their build site and we can resubmit the order from 2022 to 2023.

Yeah definitely disagree. Pali interior appears much more expensive. And I wish the Telluride would eliminate the gloss black, but at least there’s not much of it.

I want to shake automakers and tell them to cut it out with the piano black trims.
on the cover where the charger is?

I hate to admit I am just a wee bit disappointed in the in the dual 12.3 screen display options. Certainly they are functional and sleek with the video displays etc. I had just envisioned a few more options to customize the displays. I guess this comes from my experience with web browsers, media players and so on you can customize with various skins and colors to your hearts content.

True, this is an automobile that certain safety features and rules apply that may preclude the dash from displaying some multicolored light tunnel flashing in your face as you warp through traffic. However, perhaps some alternate gauge selection like analog or digital, or subtle color highlights to match interior or exterior colors would be nice. Maybe some select-able default displays that hearken back to to the days of battery voltage, oil pressure etc.

I think someone was anal retentive about blind spot indicators. Certainly its a helpful safety feature and perhaps they just kept adding additional blind spot warnings at each trim level while keeping lower trim level indicators. In the Prestige, the side view mirror lights up with a vehicle is in the blind spot. The adaptive cruse control lights up on the lower triangle corners with vehicles detected on either side. You can see vehicles, as my wife says. that look like packages passing you on conveyor belts in the cruise control display. Video images of the blind spots replace the speedo and tach displays when a turn signal is activated. Finally, you get blind spot warnings in the heads up display, not to mention the beeps and buzzes to accompany all the visual indicators. OK .... I get the message. Its all pretty nice but at the same time, the sum total seems to be a bit of overkill.

Then there is the manuals with "Warning" after "Warning" and page after page of mostly common sense info like how to adjust head rests. Then all the black background images of the display screens with a white font that even with the help of a magnifying glass, you probably can not read. Then you also need a high level of intuition or a book of automotive synonyms because odds are you will not find topics in the Index where you think they will be. Then you will read three pages of "stuff" to find that one sentence that tells you what you want to know.

Anyway, I'm loving my Tellie.

On the SX and SX-P, you have four different choices for instrument cluster appearances. Three analog and one digital. The analog ones can be linked to drive mode or independent.

It may not be infinitely adjustable like a screen would theoretically enable, but it is more than one option.

Yeah check out the digital cluster. I think it looks awesome.

Also, it is a car. Safety should be the priority even if it seems like overkill. I love the abundance of safety features.

Totally agree on both counts. Anywhere you can look and see a possible collision point - you have my vote!

I am assuming the Telly gauge cluster is the same as the new Sorento, but I like the dynamic clusters as the permanent one for all modes. It has a background that shows rain if it is raining and the light based on time of day. It is a good layout for the information as well.

Failcat dump for anyone not really watching. That's the count of 2023 VINs by model.

If you are like me and ordered the SXP XLine, looks like we are nearly bottom of the priority totem pole. Nearly 11k 2023s with VINs and only 224 in that model. Only 31 in WG (the color I ordered).

In the same boat. Ordered a Black SXP XLine with Terracotta. A grand total of 4 have been produced so far, according to Failcat.

Hopefully SXP Xline builds pick up, they were supposed to be 13% of the overall build QTY and right now they are 2%.

Current splits right now:

SX-P
13.67%
SX
10.14%
EX
13.95%
S
26.85%
LX
3.29%
X-SX-P
2.05%
SX-X
8.33%
EX-X
10.86%
XP-SX-P

Thanks - helpful but frustrating. I'm in the same boat too!

Yea, I should be close to getting my Telluride but based on how Kia allocates, this distribution has me very worried it will be a long while still. I have been on order since early Feb and my dealer has let me know that I am very near the top. Almost has me thinking changing to a X-Pro just for the heavier build schedule right now.

My sales guy also told me their allocation for the month got pulled so that isn't great news either.

I have an SX-P on order, which looks good for me. But I wonder if they are producing more SX-Ps than planned for now until they clear some of the backlog of MY22 orders? A lot of people may have just stuck with there SX-P orders for now, but new people shopping for a MY23 may prefer one of the X-lines.

Not sure how much can be read into this with just a couple weeks of production. I thought Kia initially (before order banks for '23s even opened) produced a bunch of cars just to get them out there and not necessarily based on orders or allocations for specific trim lines but what do I know...🤷‍♂️

Absolutely. They wanted a batch out there quickly. It will normalize in a month or so I bet. The top line XPRO won’t be ten percent I bet after a while.

and just 5 in White xSXP with Ter
My dealer told me that the end of November is when they will see the first car. My car won't show up until Dec or Jan and that's quite realistic in my opinion. Both good and bad, as I don't need the car exactly right now..can wait until Jan.. Bad because I just want the new toy now!
