• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... 2023 Kia Telluride Discussion

Can someone tell me why the x-line and x-pro front air wheel vents are just for show? All others Tellurides Trims are real. Thanks

Good question. Have been wondering about that, too. Maybe it has to do with off-roading but then mpg rating should be better for the non-X trim lines. If the difference is so marginal that it doesn't matter, then why use them at all. Brake cooling maybe. Yea, it's weird.

Failcat dump for anyone not really watching. That's the count of 2023 VINs by model.

If you are like me and ordered the SXP XLine, looks like we are nearly bottom of the priority totem pole. Nearly 11k 2023s with VINs and only 224 in that model. Only 31 in WG (the color I ordere
I almost went with the X-Line then decided to go with the X-Pro last minute. Originally I had ordered just the SXP-NF-AWD 2022. It is supposed to be at my dealership by 10/30/2022.

Frustrating to say the least...

'22 SXP in GWP was canceled after 7 months, now waiting on a '23 X-SX-P on GWP. I have started looking at other vehicles again if this takes too long to see production increase, I am not waiting another year.

Today my dealer, which thus far had not been able to provide any information on updating my 9 month old 2022 order to a 2023, said that on 10/25/2022 Kia will update their build site and we can resubmit the order from 2022 to 2023.
Excellent news!

I was lucky to have purchased a 2022 Telluride SX. Looked at 2023 models while waiting for an oil change. I'm disappointed at the refresh. The cosmetic changes make the SUV look cheap and plainer. No longer a head turner. Wheels and materials have been downgraded to save KIA money. The digital display looks nice but wonder if it's larger size would become a distraction.

BTW, I saw this attached 2023 Telluride features and trim that may of interest.

re towing package/hitch

for this that have taken delivery of a 23, has anyone gotten a Telluride with a hitch factory installed?

Piggybacking off this, if we paid for the towing package models, they need to install them for free when they do arrive in. It’s absolutely insane to get an xline or XPRO and still have to pay to get the hitch installed later.

Currently, Kia is not offering a factory installed hitch option for order on the 23s. I was told by one dealer they expected it to open up end of this month/start of next. I was told by another dealer there is a shortage on wire harness for the hitch.

There was a post on this thread earlier that someone had a towing package that arrived with no hitch. Not sure if that's the norm right now or an exception.

I'm waiting for it to open as an option, as I'm in the central region and no orders can change once they are placed in our region. Other regions have the ability to change when KFOs aren't closed for selection. Depending where you are, you could place the order without the hitch and add it later, if you're in the correct region to do so.

Remember, again, that the X-Line and X-Pro don’t have a hitch as a part of their trim. You’re either paying to have it installed from the factory as a PIO (when available), or you’re paying to have it installed later.

They haven’t made any cars with the towing package yet, so that’s impossible.

You’re probably referring to someone who wrongfully assumed their X-Line or X-Pro automatically came with a hitch.

Just picked up our 2023 SXP X-Pro in Gravity Gray yesterday from Moritz Kia of Alliance. Excellent experience! A couple things to note:
  • The front and back bumpers are much lighter gray than any other detail on any color as far as I could tell (except trim around the grill which appears to be the same color). Despite tricks of the light in some photos, it really is a light gray bumper. Even on the X-Line and X-Pro, it is significantly lighter than the side detailing. The side detailing on the X-Pro and X-Line is a very dark gray, not black.
  • Hitch is not available to dealers yet. Our salesperson went through the available accessories and they don't have access in their system to order or install any hitches on the 2023s yet.
  • Some other accessories are not yet available. We wanted a cargo cover, but again, it's not yet available in the system to order.
  • 2023s do not have passenger view. We have the top-of-the-line and despite the manual talking about it, the 2023 does not have it, only Passenger Talk. It doesn't appear that the rear cameras are installed for a later update or anything either. Really disappointing. I don't know if they are planning it for a mid-year refresh or what, but it sounds like any 2023s produced right now will not be able to be upgraded if it does become available later. Fingers crossed that they can just replace the entire rear climate control panel to include the cameras at some point. I would 100% pay to add this on (parents get it).
  • The setup process for multiple drivers with digital keys is not intuitive. Here's how we got it to work:
    • Create a primary Kia Owners account and setup your car
    • Download the Kia Access app (formerly Kia Connect) on your smart phone and log into the primary account
    • In the vehicle, active Kia Connect
    • From the vehicle screen, add a digital key (do this in a place with strong Wifi or cellular signal)
      • Make sure your smart phone is backside down on the wireless charging pad
    • Create a second Kia Owners account for the second driver
      • Don't go through the steps of setting up the vehicle yet
    • From the Kia Access app logged into the primary account:
      • Tap on the "More" button in the bottom nav with the 3 dots
      • Tap "Manage All Vehicles"
      • Select "Additional Drivers"
      • Select "Add Driver"
      • Enter the email address associated with the second driver's Kia Owners account
      • Have the second driver accept the invitation (I believe via email, but I can't remember exactly. It honestly could be in 1 or more of the following places: email, Kia Owners portal, or the Kia Access app 🙃)
    • From the vehicle screen, go to the Home screen then tap the profile icon in the top left (this looks like a tiny image of a road initially so it took me a minute to recognize it as a profile icon)
      • Select or add a second driver
      • Go to Vehicle -> Digital Key and go through the steps to register a new smartphone key
  • A note on financing: we went in thinking we would lease, but got pre-approved by a local credit union just in case. The cost to lease for us (extremely excellent credit ratings) was basically the same as the cost to buy, even with our incredibly good pre-approval rate of 3.85% for 60 months. We ended up buying because of how well Tellurides have held their value so far. Even if we want to sell in a couple years and get a newer model or maybe the EV9, it will likely cost less to buy than it would have to lease.
Anything else I can answer I'm very happy to!

I hope kia did better on the dark trim with the X line and xpro. Many with the Nighfall complained about peeling.

Precisely why it is no more.

So what do you think? Is tomorrow (Oct 25) the day that the configurator will be online? I'm over it as I already placed my order and there are plenty of real-life pics available on the interwebs but I think quite a few people are waiting with their orders until they can configure online. Ridiculous on Kia's end.

The Canadian configurator is up and running.
So the interior view only shows black? And the outside view is a surround of Eastern-Europe looking run-down apartment buildings from the 70s with pallets of bricks? Wtf Kia?!
