Can someone who has actually seen the new Midnight Lake Blue color tell me if it is a flat color like Wolf Gray as shown at the auto show or if it has some metallic to it like the promotional pictures suggest. It's hard to tell from pictures that seem to depict a wide variety of shades. Thank you!

Wolf Gray is not entirely flat (at least the color sample in the dealership wasn't). It has less metallic flake than their other paints, but there is still some in it. The blue is stunning. I was able to see the wolf gray and blue together today, and for me, the wolf won, and all three in my party agreed. In the bright sun today and slightly dirty, the blue was not as great as I previously saw it. Still really good, but some of the luster was gone.Looks good but IMO the blue still looks the best with the trim color they selected. However, with blacked out trim the wolf grey would look perfect (just like the 22 NF wolf grey does).
It’s flat like wolf gray. It’s not as Royal in person as photos make it out to be. (Saw in full sun today) the skilman YouTube video is pretty close to actual color. Yes i know it s basic trim. Dealer told me that i need to give up on the power tail lift gate and seat adjustment. What else are the diff. The drive comfort should be same as any other models since they use same engine for all variantsAs always, big difference in features and creature comforts from an SX to an LX.
They improved LX by a bit last year by adding the larger infotainment screen and automatic climate control. Of course, this year gets the even larger 12.3” infotainment like the rest of the line (plus the low-end flat instrument cluster). And all 2023 models have LED headlights. Still no LED taillights, though.
Just remember it’s the basic trim.

You’ll also be missing:
Roof rails, wireless phone charger, heated and ventilated front seats, leather seats (they’re faux leather instead), LED taillights, power folding mirrors, sunroof(s), LED interior lighting, rear seat sunshades, the full digital instrument cluster, Harman/Kardon premium audio, ambient lighting, 360° camera, front parking sensors, HDA 2, etc.
Of course the overall driving experience will be the same because all of the mechanicals are the same. It might even be marginally more comfortable since there’s some extra sidewall to cushion the 18” wheels.
They may not all be important to everyone, but do remember there are lots of features in that $10,000 gap between an LX and SX.
To the untrained eye, it might look similar, but the LX, S, and EX cluster is quite different from the SX and SX-P. Yes, it’s still a screen, but the layout and functionality is not the same.I can live without these luxury for now . May be i will look for other Telluride with Xline for my wife .
is it not the the full digital instrument cluster in LX, i was told by delaer that the instrument cluster is same in all the variants. it is all digital no analog designs
Hell yeah, well said. Everything progresses. I love the 20-22 look, but the more I see the new one, I love it as well. The body design still rocks, the changes for technology are great and ultimately, it will still sell like crazy. Enjoy that ride and don't be shy sharing more pictures.Perhaps because I am a relatively new Telluride fan and have not had older designs ingrained into my psyche, I like the 2023 design. We all have preferences and fads come and go. Currently the 'blacked out' look is popular in cars and motorcycles. A yellow vehicle was considered a 'lemon' in the70s and 80s and so they didn't exist. Now shades of grey are extremely popular as well a various neutral pastels.
There is a pseudo trend where certain design elements are associated with particular models like the iconc vertical grill gaps on Jeeps. With the advent of led lighting and modular designs, certain arrangements, shapes and designs get associated with certain brands. People seem to like this but at the same time it 'pigeon holes' designers and restricts design freedom and current trends. KIA has just moved on from the circular running lights. Maybe they will come back since a lot of people seem to like them. It is distinctive and make the Telly easy to spot.
So I guess I'm saying, things change. Change is sometimes hard to accept because we become comfortable and complacent with what we know. Then there is the money aspect. What sells and what does not. Money talks, BS walks. Poor US auto design standards were upended in the 60s by Japanees manufacturing. You can see were that has led us today.
I initially thought of the Telluride as 'boxy and plain' but it has grown on me. Considering I just dropped 50+k on one, I guess I really like the current design.
