Keep looking in this forum what others have done to get it towing. Yes it requires some education. If towing was on my priority list, this car wouldn't be considered in the first place. And you don't need a braking harness to tow a 30 lb Kayak unless you're using a 3000lb trailer.

Most Trailerable boats without engines, will not need a braking system. I have a good size 19 ft. daysailor, made with heavy fiberglass, and boat and trailer (single-axle) combined only weigh 1200 lbs. My tongue weight is about 40 lbs.
