• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... With the Telly big rear doors and the need to open them very wide to swing out the carriers, you will be looking to wide spaces and the cars next to you will be very susceptible to getting hit by the doors.
This notion by itself would mean any car (sedan, SUV, or otherwise) that isn’t sliding rear doors would be high risk for accidents. The same logic would apply regardless if you have only one child with a carrier as opposed to three. I can’t speak for others, but I never swing my doors into adjacent cars to get my carriers out. It was in fact the contrary, a mother with a small sedan at a baby store swung her door carelessly open into my Telly and gave me a dent.

Totally agree with you on the minivan for 3-carseat family. I’d get a Carnival for the next 3-5 years, then maybe change cars.

Another minivan vote. Embrace the stage of life you're in. We loved our Honda Odyssey for that stage and the Carnival looks really nice. We love our Telluride but kids are older and only the youngest is in a simple booster seat (no back).

The Telly is a bigger Suv that's kind of wide. I don't know how many spaces I have looked at and drove away because I didn't like the room available and I am a door dent avoider. I am not saying it's not impossible to load and unload carriers but it sure is a heck of a lot easier with a sliding door. I have owned SUV's early on in my kids lives, Land Cruisers, 4runners, GMC's Then we owned 2 Honda Odysseys with the 3 to 4 kids. Sounded like that mom needed a van.
