• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... With the A/C function off, I still get cold air whether I have the system in Auto or not. Ex. Outside temp is 65 and system dial is set at 70. Cold air comes out to keep the cabin cool. I would think that the a/c not to engage with the a/c function and/or the Auto in the off position. Is this normal?

Have you tried closing your air Intake control? Fresh air coming in, especially when it's cooler outside will do what you're describing

i am sure i have. All in all, it would be nice to just have outside air come in and not be conditioned, especially since the cold weather will be had for the next few months.

So I guess to answer your original question...yes, it's normal.

I had mine set to 72 with Auto in the "Off" position and the A/C "Off" as well. It was blowing cool air (definitely not warm or 72 degrees) inside the cabin.
However, it was also 55 degrees outside and I'm on the interstate...so I'm not expecting 72 degrees coming out of the vents especially if have the outside fresh air intake is open.

You just have to play with the dials if you want the fresh air option. It's like setting your home thermostat at home, you'll have a different result in temps if you have windows and doors open.
Just my .02

I don’t have a Telluride but my current vehicle acts very similar and will heat and cool based on the set temp and I can hear the a/c compressor kick on even though the button is not on. Also if you have the car on defrost the a/c will always come on.

Try setting ac to recirculate, I believe most of kia's ac systems let outside air in on regular mode. If is cold out it will blow cold air.
