• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I could not find any section related to towing. Sorry If I'm not in the correct section. We are looking at a pre-owned 2023 KIA Telluride EX X-Line that will tow our 3500 lb. travel trailer. The vehicle has the factory tow harness and sway bar system. Is the harness a 4 or 7 pin harness? If it is a 4 pin cable I will have to install a 7 pin cable to operate my trailer brakes. I am curious as to what else I will have to do regardless of the cable type to connect my trailer. I realize I need a receiver unit and possibly a 7 pin cable but not sure which one to purchase. Factory if available or aftermarket? Any information or where I should be asking these questions would be appreciated.

I have a 2024 EX X-line and my factory harness is a 7 pin harness. The factory kit also includes a under-dash pigtail to connect to a remote braking system (your choice). Mine was in the glovebox when I purchased it. Who know if it is there for a pre-owned vehicle? I've seen a few trailer towing posts on this forum. I've only towed a small U-haul trailer and it was fine. Do you know if yours has the tow mode button on the lower left hand side of the dash?

I'm not sure about the tow mode button until I check the vehicle again. Probably not since there is no receiver hitch assembly. Thank you for the reply. Dave
