Anyone buy an extended warranty on the Telluride?

You bring up a valid point. Craig at Muncie needs to make a definitive statement as to whether the infotainment system is covered by the Fidelity warranty or not.

I can confirm that the Premium warranty that I purchased from Muncie on my 2020 SX covered the infotainment system. I had to have it replaced post 36,000 miles and it was covered under that extended warranty. I am in the process of getting a refund on the remaining value of that warranty via Kia of Muncie and will be putting that towards the extended warranty on my new 2022. I never buy extended warranties on anything but made the exception on the first year release of the Telluride. It paid off for me, YMMV.

I purchased the extended service contract from Muncie Kia and the transaction went okay, but it does not seem nearly as professional of an experience as purchasing an extended service contract from Honda or Subaru. You don't get a warranty booklet or anything special. You just keep the signed copy of the initial contract in your vehicle and present the dealership with the contract number.

Anything after the cost is covered is money saved on repairs. You can pretty much bank on a minimum of $1500 in repairs on a vehicle within the first 100k. Yeah, you could get lucky or you could end up spending way more. I had a Sierra that had $9k worth of warranty work done by my extended warranty company by 100k. I saved $7k on repairs on that thing. That covers the cost of the three ext warranties I've purchased since and then some.

And not everyone is rolling warranty into their loan, I bought mine after about 3,000 miles. This gave me time to decide if I liked the car enough to keep it long term.

How much time do we have to buy warranty after picking up vehicle? Do we need to buy from the dealer who sold the car? Thanks

I think you have up to 5,000 miles to get the prices below. Kia of Muncie has sold a lot of warranties because they have the best price.
Here is the updated pricing for the $0 deductible, platinum service contract offered by Kia of Muncie.

10 year or 100k miles is $1,647
8 year or 120k miles is $1,846
10 year or 150k miles is $2,763 - This is new and was not offered previously.

Kia of Muncie also offers a Platinum Plus Cosmetic with Key package. Most people refer to this as a tire and wheel protection plan. It is offered for 72 months and unlimited miles for $799.

Debating if I should buy an extended warranty on my Telluride SX. Not worried as much about the car as I am about all the electronics.

I am purchasing my telluride tomorrow. The finance lady said I should buy the extended warranty in case my 10.25 screen besks. She claims it cost 9000 for a new one. Does anyone know if this is true? She is charging 3801.00 for the extended warranty.

That's just bad car dealer sales tactics right there. My infotainment system went bad in my 2020 Telluride and it was about $1600 to replace at the Kia dealer. Skip the extended warranty when you buy and purchase from Kia of Muncie for under $1700 for the 10 year extended warranty if you really want it. You have up to the 5,000 mark to purchase it. Is the extended warranty the kind of warranty you can give the info to your mechanic so you don't have to pay out of pocket and then get reimbursed? Reimbursement extended warranties are not my cup of tea.

I emailed Craig towards the end of February this year and he gave me the below prices for all the plans which matches the $1924 he sent you. Prices have gone up quite a bit as I got the 8 year 120,000 mile warranty in February 2020 for $1578. My local Kia dealer gave me a price of $2,100 for a CNA warranty for 10 years 150,000 miles with $0 deductible.

Here is the current pricing for the $0 deductible, platinum service contract offered by Kia of Muncie.

The warranty I purchased wasn’t a terrible deal, as far as warranties are concerned, but my wife probably won’t even have 60k miles on the vehicle 10 years from now. Going to try and reach the general manager by phone next. If that doesn’t get it resolved within the week I am going to have to figure out next course of a action.

Was this ever resolved? I'm thinking about calling Arapahoe CO and cancelling ours as well

Yes, I have had a claim against it. My GPS receiver module went out after the standard warranty had expired. The dealer contacted the warranty company directly and the claim went through flawlessly. It was exactly the type of electronic problem for which I had purchased the extended warranty.

Now I see that they offer a 150k mile warranty. I would probably cost me a bundle to upgrade from the balance of my current 100k warranty to a new 150k warranty, but I'm considering it. Has anyone else done this?
