If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Anyone buy an extended warranty on the Telluride?

Yes - thru my selling dealer since they were able to offer the 10 yr/125k mile exclusionary coverage for a nice price. I did ask them, but they are not interested in offering to the group. I'm about a 15k/yr driver, so 125k should give me about 8 yrs of full coverage...

What is still unclear to me is .......all the electronic driver assist functions, sensors, instrument panel info screen, etc.....is THAT covered under the 5/60 or the 3/36?

I would assume 5/60 - but JMHO... either way the extended warranty covers almost everything, why I got it, call it peace of mind...

Debating if I should buy an extended warranty on my Telluride SX. Not worried as much about the car as I am about all the electronics.

If you bought one, which one and how much? How is the coverage?
We got the 10 year bumper to bumper for $1250. Worried about the electronics too...but not anymore with the warranty...

Normally I would not think about a maintenance contract but all the electronic components scare me so I went for it

Anyone who went with the fidelity extended warranty know if there is a service center lookup? I am interested in getting the extended warranty but would like to keep using the same mechanic I have been going to for the past years. I couldn't find it on the website and would like to avoid calling customer care.

Ok, car is finally here and hope to be in drivers seat no later than Monday.
For the 2 warranties, Fidelity and The Mechanic, do we have to buy through a KIA dealer or directly from them?
Anyone know the best going price for each? I saw $1495 with Jason Fox for Fidelity and saw a couple of people got The Mechanic for $1000

We appreciate that!

+1 to buying through Jason/Craig at Kia of Muncie. I did the 10yr/100k/$0 deduct Platinum plan - Was seamless, painless and a fair price. I highly recommend them.
It's through KIA right?
Not a 3rd party?
I have never gotten an extended warranty so I'm not sure how that works

It's the Kia-branded brochure. If you look at Jason Fox's post here: Anyone buy an extended warranty on the Telluride? it has the attachment with details and pricing. It was the same warranty offered at my Kia dealership. I actually had the hard copy and took a scan of it (attached).

Hey Jason! I sent an email to you about getting the extended warranty through Kia of Muncie. Can you help me out? Thanks!
Yes!

I hate to burst everyone's bubble regarding the electronics warranty but typically with electronics, if something is going to fail, it will fail within the first 30 days or so of life. Extended warranties on things such as the stereo, speakers and even navigation are a complete waste of money. You are buying a Kia Telluride because of the quality. Why then would you turn around and spend an extra $1,200 to extend the warranty on the electronics?

This is simply the warranty companies and dealerships preying on your fear that something will go wrong with your shiny new car. It is like the salesman who tells you to buy a Sony TV due to their high quality (which is true by the way) and then in the next sentence trying to convince you to spend $500 - 600 on an extended warranty.

I should also add that, of course, the dealerships want to sell you the extended warranty. It is because the markup is HUGE. The reason the markup is huge is because they seldom have pay out or if something happens they find the small print somewhere that somehow excludes your issue from the policy. Translation...it is a huge profit center for them.

Sure, that's a fair opinion. But, for those that do want an extended warranty, Kia of Muncie has provided a fair priced plan for forum members - well below the price of many other dealerships. It's also comprehensive. I know you won't be buying it, but some people want them.
