• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... As a Canadian, I am extremely disappointed with my order from TDM Warehouse, and a warning to other Canadians...

First off, I totally understand this forum is associated with KDM, so maybe this will actually get to someone that will read it... if it gets me banned, so be it (it's been a slice, see you elsewhere), but I will get my opinion out there.

I also understand, I will get some heat for this post, but again, so be it, I will get my opinion out there and try to warn my fellow Canadians.

Secondly, I have no issue paying the cost of the items, it was my choice, so I did. I wanted the quality they provide over other places, so I paid extra, thats not the problem here.

My problem lies with the cost of shipping... and what happens after.

1) I was only given an option of UPS (which I hate with a passion), and the lowest was $27.58 US for shipping a padded envelope (I assume, since they won't deliver it until I pay online) to Canada. Like give me a break, the whole thing weights half a pound (1/2 lb). I have paid less for much larger items on eBay. KDM is getting more money from the shipping, which is wrong. Let the customers decide who ships. $27.58 equates to $36.50 CDN, my order was already $175.50 Canadian, but hey I knew what I was paying, so I clicked that "complete button". I feel that this shipping is way overpriced for us, and better options are available (USPS for example).

2) That's not the end of my costs, today I get a call from UPS, and I am getting dinged for "Brokerage charges" to the tune of $41.64. Unfortunately, I knew that a bill was coming, but to have it this much is a joke. I was expecting $25 maybe. This is why I hate UPS and refuse to deal with them. If it had been sent USPS, then they brokerage charge would have be $5 and the GST ($12 total)>

Also for those saying the door strikers are heavy, and that was the extra cost, no, the 7 badges and wheel center cap set is only $1 less to ship, thats why i ended up getting as much as I could.

Whatever, it's done now, but unfortunately I will never buy another thing from KDM Warehouse unless they change their shipping practices to Canada, and I HIGHLY warn other Canadians, be wary, you will ended up paying much more then you think you are.

I suggest looking elsewhere if you want badges, etc unless the shipping methods change, or be prepared to pay way extra.

Total cost for me, $218.00 ($164US) for a set of 7 badges, an extra set of wheel overlays, and the door striker set.

To those thinking, "Wow he is bitching about $50 extra for a $60,000 CDN Vehicle" it's not the money, it's the principle here. UPS are evil and should never be used, I have tried to avoid them for 20+ years, but this happens every time I am forced use them, KDM should rethink their shipping methods to Canada, if they want more sales from up here, and this post is to warn other Canadians to not get a rude surprise like I did.

Peace out.

That is a bummer. Did you try to contact them before ordering to see if they would offer a different shipping method?

Hey Bro. That's UPS, 100%. Absolute *PIRATES* ripping off Canadians for cross border shopping. It is absolutely insane, and if it isn't already somehow illegal IT SHOULD BE. Whenever I encounter a vendor pushing UPS to Canada, I ask for USPS or cancel my order. I would rather drive over and get it myself (CBI USA), or when willing to pay for convenience, I use "Shippsy" to broker it for $7CAD... not UPS' total ripoff gouging. In the few instances where I had mo choice and no other supllier or was lazy and got caught not checking in advance, I have had success pleading ignorance or looking up the shipment on the Canadian Tariff and finding a way to categorize it as a duty free item.

An example of this:
. Ordered enormous cardboard cutout of a cartoon character for child's birthday
. Got jammed for art/other duty
. Submitted a tariff correction demand as "awards / celebrations" are duty free
. They cancelled the invoice.

.....whaaat? It was an *award* for a birthday *celebration*. If they can b.s. me to steal my money I can b.s. them to not get ripped off.
;)
