Is there any way to change the auto headlight sensitivity settings? When I have the switch set to "auto: the headlights are switching on and off all the time on a bright sunny day. I go through a shaded street and they come on. I drive in the shadow of a semi trailer and they come on. I was able to keep the switch in auto with my previous vehicle but with the Telluride being so sensitive it makes that option almost useless.

Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message

If I'm just going to turn the lights on myself when I think I need them, why have the option at all? The point of the auto function is so they will come on automatically when it gets dark enough to improve both my and oncoming traffic safety/ visibility. The problem is Kia's definition of "dark enough" seems to be much, much brighter than mine.
the driving lights are on all the time during day, and if you set headlights at Auto they come on when needed. Then you can set Auto High beams as well

Yeah, the issue is Kia thinks "when needed" is driving down a tree-lined street at noon on a sunny day.
As least on my 2024 the auto high beams are active when the headlights are on, whether the headlight switch is set to "on" or "auto".
Ok, we have a 2022 - they must have changed the behavior in later s/w version or models, thanks

I asked the service tech if they can adjust the sensitivity of the auto headlight sensor and was told no. I don't know if it is something Kia can adjust through a software update, but for me, the auto switch is useless as is.
In other news, my service tech was wonderful and the entire visit was great. I have read on here where some have had a bad experience but I am happy to report mine was great.
