• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... What are your thoughts about something like this?

I contacted them for a quote - not cheap at all. Roughly 1200 delivered. Lord knows what someone would charge for installation...

They're nice but if my 5'4" wife can get in the car without em I'm good! Lol I'd spend the $$ on new wheels first. Still waiting to see these installed on a telluride tho. There's another thread floating around about them but not sure if anyone has installed yet

So my old man lives with us. 80 and frail. If I go out to breakfast with him it's lunch time by the time he's out of the car...hah

Only reason why I'm giving it a look.

This Michael Carbone character on the video clearly installed it. Wish he was on these forums.

If thats the case I do believe they'd be beneficial. Look sturdy enough. Just gotta get them to make that led orange for the SX headlights! 👍

All you need is a small step stool. Worked with my 100 year old grandma.

Haha!

I may just have to slow down and get the OEM step bars...this is a completely wish list item at this point...

I was looking into this a couple of weeks ago. Inquired about a group buy for discounts. We would have to make an order of approx 30. There’s a YouTube video out there of a guy that installed this on his Telly....

30 is a lot...

Waiting on him to reply back to me in regards to the warranty...if any...

I think it would be worth the money for running boards if you have small kids—who will be entering/exiting the vehicle from multiple doors. But your dad will probably be using the same door every time, so it could be overkill...unless you just like the way the running boards look.
To me the fixed running boards would drive me nuts, because the Telly is not far off the ground. Also, you’ll probably get your pants dirty in the winter getting in and out of the car.
Good Luck, whatever you decide!

This is the same internal debate I’ve had with myself this entire time. I (selfishly) actually Like the look of the OEM stationary running boards. I’ve gotten used to the ones I have on my truck.

We have a little one that will more than likely need a boost to get in the vehicle. So I’m using that as an ‘excuse’ to get the wife on board.

It’s one of those that I go back and forth on as to whether or not Its ‘worth’ it. Then I looked at the accessories catalog and for my zip, if I bought these down the road, it would be about the cost of these automatic ones, which btw are pretty neat but overkill imo.

Of course, I could probably shop around and find the OEM ones for cheaper than what’s listed on the accessory guide, but I figure it’s probably going to be the best cost when included in an order

I'd argue most automotive modifications are overkill, but what fun would anyone have in forking over hard earned money for parts we actually need?! Lol If I had the money I'd get these.

And any more pics of that white SX? Looks like a newer door panel design with the two tone color (gray or butterscotch) can't tell.

It’s as if I could’ve written this post! I just really like the look of the oem steps. For my eyes, they just go really well with this suv. The suv itself is not that high and at my height, I personally have literally no “need” for these...definitely a “want”. But I do have small children who’d appreciate them so I’ve convinced myself enough to say screw it. I like them and got dealer to install them at no charge so like $699 total. Of course I haven’t paid for them yet and don’t have the car until Aug but I have had that same internal debate you speak of constantly looking for pics and vids with the sidesteps.

Warranty is a year - looks to be solidly built from the installation instructions the owner sent me...

I wouldn't DIY something like this...now the million dollar question - how much would someone charge me to get the install done...

Here's the link to the videos... If there are enough people here to reach 30 buys, that would be awesome. Either way, I'm in on this one... purely cosmetic.

I'd be on board depending on how much pricing improves if we get to 30...plus is he shipping all 30 to one buyer who will then ship out 29 pieces to others...sounds like a disaster unless an auto parts dealer runs lead.

It's functional (no more than OEM side steps) and cosmetic at the same time.

The momoreal ones are better than the wingstep. Wingstep is an off brand to to the momoreal brand.

momoreal also tie into canbus with three wires only which means the led color changes to turn signal color, drl lights, and brake lights.

wingstep only has daytime lights and run to the panel.

if anyone is going to do the mod, go with momoreal. Quality is a lot better. It cost in us $1182 with cost of part and shipping total.

you can order them with PayPal by sending an email to the seller: kspeedmotor@gmail.com

it’s not a scam. You can find them on eBay and Amazon. Plus you are using PayPal for safety reasons.

Are you owner? Saw that you are copying/pasting this in multiple spots.

I got regular side steps on mine.
