• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I am trying to back up a small trailer with my 2023 Telluride XPro. I have it in tow mode, but it still thinks I'm about to back into something and engages the emergency brake and stops me. I can't find anything in the owner's manual or any videos on the internet to tell me what I'm doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Tow mode only adjusts throttle response and shift points (as far as I know).

You can turn off the rear sensors each time you start the car to disable the sensors and emergency braking.

If you have the Kia trailer wiring harness installed, plugging in the trailer lights will automatically disable the sensors and emergency braking. In my case, I only needed the 7 to 4 pin adaptor plugged in, not the trailer wiring into the 4 pin connector.

You need the oem kia wiring harness to have the car automatically disable the rear sensors when towing. Anything else will require you to go into the infotainment center and disable various backup and rear collision sensors when towing (and turn them back on when not towning). The OEM harness is the lifesaver here.

Was this new for 23?
