If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Backup sensor issue

Hello everyone, I am new here. I have a 2020 telluride S that I bought last year. I am very happy with it except I don’t like the remote start in the app. Especially now that the free trail expired. So I purchased the accessoride remote start and installed it today. After programming it today I realized that when I put the car in reverse I get a alert in the dash that says “parking sensor error or blockage” and the car beeps.

the car has no other issues. I assume that maybe the plug and play harness might have an issue. Does anyone have the wiring diagram for the three wire harness connectors on the passenger side behind the glove compartment and the diagram for the one in the fuse box on the drivers side in the cabin. I have a picture of the one I’m pointing. I had to unplug these in order to make the connections. I’d like to see if I can find what wires are for the back up sensors and maybe I just need to wiggle them or a pin was bent. I have attached some pictures. I think some
Of the manuals might have what each pin in the connector goes to.

Thank you guys for the help!

You have the accessorides remote start with takeover I am guessing if you accessed the wire harness to the left of the steering wheel.

The 2-wire takeover install should have no impact on parking sensors if installed correctly.

Did you try walking around the front and rear bumpers first and check the sensors (little circles) aren’t obstructed with mud or debris?

If they are not blocked, next thing I would try is uninstalling the remote starter. If the problem remains it is likely the issue with the sensors is unrelated, and time for a trip to the dealer.

Thank you for the reply. And yes it’s the one with the bypass. Although none of the wires I tapped into have an effect on the rear backup sensors it could be that maybe I bent a bin during the installation when I removed the whole plug that contained many pins. Same with the harness connectors in the passenger side behind the glove compartment. It was a tight space and maybe I pulled a pin out. That’s why I am curious if any of those plugs or harnesses have something to do with the back up sensors. If so, then maybe I can check that one and take it look at it before I send it to the dealer.

Anyone have the manual that has the diagram of the pins for the connectors?

Hi ~ Sorry you are having this issue. We, too, were frustrated by the app and wanted to switch to a fob remote start. The dealership told me it's not sold aftermarket for a 2020 unless you ordered that as an option. I pushed back and politely requested that the parts department call Kia and get this straight... was I right? If so, what is the part # to order for a 2020 SX? Thanks in advance.

There are no aftermarket remote starters sold by Kia as OEM for the 2020 model. Several owners have had success installing various brands through best buy or other through other install shops.

The simplest DIY route is to go with Accessorides, which many owners on this forum have successfully been using. Can be easy as unplugging a harness connector and plugging it back in. Or tapping 2 additional wires by the steering wheel for takeover function, similar to UVO remote start where you can get in the car and go without the engine shutting off first.
