Anyone get the warning “Battery discharging due to external electrical devices“ when starting up? It happens in the morning for me. Took it to the dealership & they don’t know what it means. Battery looks perfectly good to them. They said they need to set up a tech call with Kia to figure it out. It’s pretty frustrating. Anyone else deal with this issue?

Definitely does not happen to me upon start up. I will say however, I get that same exact message when sitting in my car, engine turned off with power mode on just to listen to the radio or using CarPlay. I've never once had a battery warning with any of my previous cars while just on power mode listening to the radio.

Yes, we have been getting this message about once every 5 days or so. Shortly after we get the warning, the car won't start due to dead battery. After charging the battery back up, we are good for another short while, but then things start over.
I have an appointment to get the Telluride serviced on November 23, and I've had that appointment for about 3 weeks now. I've resorted to hooking up the charger to the battery every 3 or 4 days to top it back off. I'm not sure what is going on, to be honest. Does the battery have a bad cell? Is the car not charging correctly while running? Is something slowly drawing down the battery? Nothing is plugged in, but we still get the message.

To see if perhaps your partner left a vibrator plugged in or something....

Yes, this is a bonus for the issue. I hate the ISG (Idle, Stop & Go) system, but I would rather not have a battery issue (if that's what it is).
I'm going to try and get my battery load tested at an auto parts store this weekend, prior to taking it to Kia next week. The more ammunition I have, the better.

UPDATE...
Yesterday was our appointment at the dealership. They were able to determine that the battery was fine, however, there were several faults located in the computer and said that some modules weren't shutting off correctly, causing the battery drain. They linked it all back to a bad IBU (looks to be a Body Control Module of some sort). The module has been ordered and I'll have to bring the vehicle back in a week or so when the part arrives.

Would you mind giving an update? Have you had the battery drain warning come on since this last service appointment? Mine just started coming on again in the mornings

Sorry, I forgot to give any updates...
The IBU was changed out in December and so far we haven't had any issues with the warning or with the battery fully discharging. Something isn't 100% right though because the auto start/stop system won't work at all (not that I really want it to) and I've read that this can be caused by a low battery condition. We took it back to the dealer in January for them to check everything out and they said the battery was good and that there was a long list of conditions that had to be met in order for the auto start/stop system to activate. They claim that their technician was able to get it to activate, however it hasn't activated for either the wife or I once since (and it was daily prior). I think the battery has a weak cell myself, but I'll wait it out and see.
At least, for now, I'm not having to manually charge the battery every couple of days.

While I was waiting I drove the car in sport mode for 20 minutes and the auto start stop worked twice.
I then bought a battery charger which shows my battery was below 25%.
Lerdr it on for 18. Hours.
The auto start stop started working. But next day same thing.
I don’t think it’s the button.

I noticed a week ago that most times when I get in my car it i not remembering my settings, seat 1, what I left the AC on etc. Also, the start on the remote would not work Thursday. Friday afternoon I go to start my car and nothing! It clicks and lights & symbols flash. Called the dealer and they say it sounds like a battery, I am waiting for roadside assistance now. UGH! What is causing this!?

I know it's been a while but I just started having a similar problem. I was wondering what it was that solved your problem. Thank you in advance.
Short trips without occasional long highway drives will deplete the battery to the point the sensors are activated to give this warning. It just means the battery has reached a threshhold to give this warning—tho the battery has still adequate charge left. Here’s from google: Short-Term Driving: Driving your car often on short trips can contribute to a short battery life and a battery failing to keep a charge. This is because the most taxing use of the battery in your vehicle is the initial engine start and you never give it enough time to get fully charged.
