• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Best custom cell phone mount

As a matter of fact, this is what my wife found on Amazon and it is pretty much perfect. It's magnetic, but does not charge. She has an iPhone 11, so no built in magnets. The mount included metal plates and we were able to attach one to the inside of her case. Not my first preference, but she's happy with it. Now I just need to figure out how to pull the woodgrain dash panel so I can tuck the wire out of the way...

Here's the Amazon link: https://amzn.to/3eNTxEQ

I wonder if that can be stuck behind the infotainment screen and still keep the phone in the same location.

I have a question to driver's that need to see their screens of their phones....WHY?
Is not hands free blue tooth enough? If you are looking at your phone then that is DISTRACTED DRIVING. It is against the law in most states.
If you really need to see your phone pull over at a safe area and take/make your call. Death is not a options....it's for real.(y)

I like the Vanmass Line that is available at Amazon.

My two cents thanks to @rcoplien and vanmass...

Your welcome!

After getting frustrated trying to find a good mounting solution and spending way too much money on vent mounts, dash mounts, and everything in between. I ended up taking a piece of aluminum flat stock and bending it to fit around the infotainment screen. Mounted it to the back of the screen enclosure and putting magnetic mounts on either side.
The phones sit solidly, don't block the view of anything, and are easy to re-position.
Thanks for sharing this. I am going to try and duplicate this for my new '22 Telluride. I ordered the aluminum flat stock but I do not have any experience in bending metal. Would you be able to share any additional info on how you bent it? Angles, etc? Thanks again.

This is how mine is set up. I had a proclip, but it broke/ I didn't love the location over the emergency flasher button.

This is the best one I’ve ever bought I love it! You can rotate it 360° and angle it.

I just got one of these, but I’m having a rough time finding a good spot to mount it. Seems like there isn’t an ideal spot to mount it without covering up buttons or other things. Where did you mount yours? Thanks!

Place it somewhere where the mobile phone will cover the middle AC vent.

This is how I am doing it. However, I am using clip that can be attached to one of the vent blades.

A clip exactly like below:

When using Waze via CarPlay, the map displays on the Kia screen, but the step by step directions appear on the phone. I find this useful to see a couple of directions ahead.
Then when I change my screen to access something else like music/podcasts, the GPS directions are still available on my phone. See the photos for examples.

Does Waze let you report speed traps when you are in car Play because Google does not.

Waze lets you report/confirm the presence of Police thru CarPlay on my Mazda3 and VW Tiguan.
I've only had the Telly for 2 days, so no actual experience yet...but I assume it will.

I really wish the ProClip didn't cover the Flasher button and part of the Infotainment controls. Otherwise it would probably be terrific! I wonder if they have considered a different location in the vehicle that would interfere less?

It does but I'm no longer using Waze due to the lag it has developed - another post. All others work fine and Waze works fine in all other cars with CarPlay. Hopefully someone will have an answer.

I have been using an air vent holder, not ideal but it’s worked. I just found this flexible, adhesive base that fits perfectly in that little space next to the display! (I’ve added a photo of the way I mounted it, being flexible it could also go the other direction) I didn’t want a magnetic holder so I swapped it for a charging holder and it works great! I live in a very hot climate, California desert-115+ summers, so we’ll see how it holds up this summer! I’m so excited to have my air vent back!! Both items I used I found on Amazon… hope this helps someone else too!!

I have a similar setup but with a magnetic holder but I’m no longer fond of it. I think I’ll try your setup. How did you swap out the magnet for the charging holder? Thank you.

They both came disassembled. Both attach with a ball and ring. The ball from the mount fits into the hole on the back of the charging mount perfectly! i will share some images using the magnet part from the adhesive mount and the vent mount from the charging holder (the pieces i didn't use from each set since the others are mounted in my vehicle). hope this helps you get an idea of how they connect, it's the same for the other pieces that I did use.

Great. Thanks for the additional info!
