• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Starting a thread to express my disappointment in the large black plastic piece on the back of the front row seats. It didn't stop me from ordering a new EX but I went with a black interior to mask this large piece of plastic. I would have rather gone with dune brown but I couldn't get over the contrast between the black plastic and the dune brown leather.

This is honestly the only major disappointment to me with the car and it seems like an easy one to fix.

Am I the only one that thinks this way?

Dune Brown is only available on the SX Prestige, not on an EX. The main reason the back is plastic is to resist wear from feet (think kids in the 2nd row kicking/scraping it), though I imagine there is a cost savings involved.

I'm glad the hard plastic is there, cause my kids feet would tear it up if it was leather lol. It is a different approach from what normal car manufacturers do but I can see both sides on this. I guess if I didn't have kids it might bother me

Wow, that is actually a great explanation. Maybe I’ll need to rethink the black interior and re-order (haha). I’m thinking about upgrading to the SX too.

Our 2014 Sorento had a black leather interior, and we loved the color of the seats. What we didn't like was the light grey headliner that collected a few battle scars over the years. While shopping for this Telluride, we decided to go with the Dune because the headliner was dark, and also because the very first car I ordered (1979 Trans Am) had vinyl seats that were colored very similar to the Dune. They were called Camel Tan. These are much nicer!
