• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Cripes! Last night I tried to back down my curved driveway. The side mirrors were wet and the driveway pavement was darker from being wet, and my backup lights didn't provide enough light to see anything at all through the mirrors. The exhaust in the cold air obliterated the camera. I was completely blind trying to back up! I need fog lights on my back bumper, or a spotlight!

What a horrible chain of events

Sounds like a worst case scenario. I usually have no problem with the back up camera. I did swap out my incandescent bulbs for LEDs though.

Two suggest next time you are in that situation:
  1. Try messing with the brightness settings on your back up camera screen. It might be possible to find a more useable setting.
  2. Open your lift gate while driving in reverse.

Are the license plate bulbs just regular 194's? (hopefully that is accurate) Appreciate it!
