• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... just took my telluride in yesterday and they confirmed what i thought, the awd coupler is failing. the part is on back order, and im going on a trip in about 3 weeks

my question is, does anyone know if you can still drive with this part failing? dealer says you can, but i trust them about as far as i can throw them..

thanks

I wouldn’t go on a long trip but I think you should be fine. It might be a rough ride at times as it continues to fail. But if the coupling totally failed the FWD would take over. It’s a FWD biased AWD system.

It won’t lock up in a traditional sense, it will act like a solid axle and cause premature tire wear. Nothing to worry about for only three weeks.

Ya. The problem is it’s about a 2000 mile round trip pulling my boat. :(
