• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Canadian 2021 Telluride

We live in Alberta (5% taxes vs 12% taxes, so thats $4100 difference right there) and we did not pay for the bullshit fee they try to add on (Alberta Package, or whatever it's called in the east), because we factory ordered it before they can add on the "etching, block heater, and nitrogen" crap before you buy off the lot. We (I assume StoneyRob as well) did agree to their $500 admin fee because they need to make money too like everyone.

I got a very similar deal to StoneyRob. Slightly more because he lives in Edmonton, and living in Calgary we pay to get it shipped here from Edmonton, and Edmonton seems to have more dealers willing to deal slightly as opposed to Calgary,

All told I paid under MSRP right off the vehicle (not much, but I did), and then got some discounts off accessories I was going to get anyways, all told I got about $1500 off in the end after full MSRP for vehicle, full price for tow package (7-pin and brake) and full price for OEM Premium Mats (Rows 1/2/3 and 60/40 rear that everyone loves.)
Oh, yes the tax alone is a big difference. Thanks for the explanation.

My new car just arrived over the weekend. I totally didn’t expect it so it was a good shock when they called me to come and pick it up.

I ordered in May (2020 SXL w/o nappa), received a 2021 SXL with nappa and had to pay the $1K premium for the nappa since the ones without nappa are not available any more.

Overall, I’m very happy with the purchase Experience at Kia West in Coquitlam BC.

Now I’m in the learning faze, still trying to figure out what all the different buttons do.

Hi guys, just wondering if you are able to disable the auto shut-off feature by pressing the button behind the shifter?
Supposedly the light on the button should light up when disable but my Kia does nothing when I press on it. No light on the button and the system is not disable either.

just wondering if this thing is broken or am I doing something wrong. Same goes with the rear park assist and view button. All 3 don’t react When I press them.

You can, if you jam a piece of paper in there.

Video here, but you have to be logged in the The Facebook to view it. Will show unavailable if not logged in)

Not recommended to disable it but people do.

If the buttons don't do anything, then a cable may be loose underneath.

if all 3 do not work, most likely the problem is in the wiring. This is a single block of buttons. when you press on each of them, the yellow indicator should light up / go out.

this weekend I noticed that the led strip of light was not on in the driver's door. I took off the plastic sheathing - they just forgot to connect the wire. connected - now it works.

Just put down a deposit on an SX Green with Espresso Interior, here in Quebec. Dealer in Val David - paid a little under MSRP with the mats thrown in.
Will wait now confirmation from Kia Canada and hopefully a VIN soon. Excited

@StonyRob or anyone else that picked theirs up recently.

How did you register for UVO for quickest response/activation?

Sales guy told me to register on the app, but under VIN it asks for Registration Code. I was not given a Registration code yet, but I have not picked it up yet either (tomorrow).Z

I did do the walk through today.

What did you guys enter for that? Or did you just register through the vehicle screen?

Dealer told me that it's for 5 years, but I think it's 3 years?

I received an email. Dealer must have set it up and it sent me an email. I registered using the link. Then I downloaded the app.

Thanks,

Ya he said that, but also said it would take a few days to get it.

I will just wait for the email I guess.

Going for PPF/Ceramic anyways once picked up... I can wait.

are you getting the whole car With PPF?

I got the app all set up before I even picked up the car. I had two wait two days because I wanted to get it with the windows tinted. While waiting for those two days I would get notifications that my car has been left unlocked. I was so tempted to lock the car. 😂 I was also tempted to remote start it as well but didn’t. I live two kilometres from the dealershup. Hahahaha

No, just full front PPF and entire vehicle ceramic

Consists of:
  • Full hood
  • Full fenders
  • Mirrors
  • Full front bumper
  • Door pockets
  • Roofline & A-Pillars

  • Edges wrapped & tucked

Very, very hard to capture the true picture of what black copper looks like , but this is close (just out of the car wash).....and, HUD and LED features are very nice. Once you are used to 'em you don't want to give 'em up!! 😎

how did you get the US spec wheels?

@blitt is in the US (PA I believe), he just posted the color for us.

Yup....I wonder why US and Canadian specs are different? Is it a "safety" regs difference between the two??

We are just nicer and don't complain (as much) LOL :)

Nah, I think they just want things to be different.

Not having the black OEM wheels last season in Canada was an eye opener for sure, but looks like they are getting closer and closer to US specs,

In a couple of years, my guess will all be the same, maybe even offer FWD in Canada (ours is all AWD options)

Even the dial is different for some reason, we get 7 you guys get 5.

Maybe pricing?

I mean we pay $57,000 MSRP for Nightsky (before taxes), and the conversion rate for us would be $43,300 in the US (before taxes) and we know that is not anywhere near what you guys pay, Kia.com shows $49,410US for the exact vehicle I paid $57,000CDN ($43,300US) for with Nappa (we don't get Nappa, so take $1400 off, $48,000US for all the same trim) so I guess they have to make them different?

Way, way back in the day .....US car manufacturers were making cars ( Pontiac for instance) with different names and slightly different looks depending upon which country they were manufactured for. In 1960 you could buy a Pontiac Catalina in the US, but in Canada it was called a Laurentian and equipped differently and , honestly, I had thought that kind of thing had "gone away", although I do realize each country may have separate "safety regs" and such may result in different configurations. Must make production interesting!!
