Tap lower left corner until it is the 3 or 4 panel display. Normally has a map, music, calendar and time to home all displaying at once.

Far bottom left corner. Keep pressing it until you get to the dashboard screen like I have shown. This will show your last-used maps app (Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze) and your currently playing media.

Pro tip: if you’re using this setup, you probably want to make sure you have CarPlay take up the full wide screen.

As long as you are running iOS from at least the last few years, you definitely have the CarPlay dashboard screen.

Keep swiping toward the leftmost screen or just tap this icon in the lower corner.


Boom. Dashboard screen. Here, it’s Waze plus Apple Music. If you need more detail, click on the box to bring up the full app.

Don’t forget:

Pro tip: if you’re using this setup, you probably want to make sure you have CarPlay take up the full wide screen.

You’re so close.

Unplug your phone and push setup > device connections > CarPlay. Uncheck the option to use split screen for CarPlay.

Plug your phone back in. You’ll be set.
