• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Don’t pay that much. You can see if they will match Kia Muncie price of $1647. Many posts on the forum about it.

It's worth it, if you can pay less than 3K. My dealer offered me around the same, but I used the Muncie pricing to negotiate down to $1800. While still not the Muncie price, it was much better than the 3K.

Thank you for the information I will ask then to lower the price, so about $1500 should be fair correct.

Thank you for the information, I will reach out to the dealer and negotiate the price, so around 1500 the cost should be justified correct?

It depends on how long you expect to keep the vehicle. The electronics are covered for 3 yrs / 36k miles by the manufacturer's warranty. If you trade every 2-3 years there's no reason to buy an extended warranty.

I think that $1500 is asking an awful lot and doubt that you'd get it for that cheap. My dealer started with the $3k (or thereabouts) # and I said, no thanks because I knew I could get it cheaper from Muncie. Sales person lowered a little bit more and I declined again. They brought out finance person who doubted the muncie deal but he lowered a bit more and I declined again. He finally offered me $1800+ and I said deal. Although it was a little bit more, it was worth it to me. To each their own when it comes to determining worth/value. There are lots of threads about whether to get the warranty or not. In the end, there's really no wrong or right answer.

I see it as another form of insurance. They are betting that you won't need it or your costs for repair won't exceed your cost and the rest is pure profit for them. Then they are also betting that the total cost or repairs paid out doesn't exceed all the extra warranty sales. You are also hoping you won't need it, but if you do you won't have to pay anymore out of pocket. If the Telluride cost to own goes up, repair costs start to rise, and reliability starts to drop then you can expect the cost of these warranties to go up and you got a deal, but then you have a car with problems and likely start shopping for a more reliable vehicle before the resale tanks. They wouldn't offer it if they didn't make a ton of money on it. That tells me that it might be worth the gamble to go without it. But if it helps you sleep at night and you plan to keep the vehicle for the life of the coverage, then as @ESKPD said there is worth/value to you, so go for it.
