• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Car wash

Yes as long as it's a "brushless" wash. Are there anymore with those awful nylon bristles?

Insofar as will it scratch your car; A lengthy thread (if you do PLEASE, start another thread) can easily be had about car washes.
Safe for your car? Safe as for any car.

Brushless car washes really do not clean the car that well, better than nothing. Call me crazy but I only hand wash my vehicles.

If a brushless car wash has an underneath option, I like them for removing road salt.
Otherwise I'm also a big hand wash advocate.

The problem I found with car washes is they recycle the water and can not filter out everything. Basically in the winter you are spraying salt water underneath your vehicle. I get my vehicles undercoated and rinse them off with a product called Salts Gone in the winter months.

I hand wash my vehicles, not willing to take a chance on a car wash..
.

If I had the funds I would hire a mobile detailer to clean my vehicle.

Same here! For now I actually enjoy cleaning my own cars and always do an amazing job at least I think. Hand wash with 2 bucket method. Meguiars has never failed me like using the Gold Class Car wash soap.

I've tried multiple car cleaning products over the years. By far my favorite are those from Griot's Garage. What I really love is that it doesn't take long (just about 30 minutes) to get it great looking. I had been washing with a bucket for years. I tried a hose-end foamer starting about 3 years ago and thought that was so much easier. About 4 months ago, I decided to go to the full foaming route using a power washer. I thought it would double the time it took to wash, now I realized that it takes about half the time. Every spring I do a full deep cleaning, using a clay bar, followed by paint correction, polishing and then a ceramic wax, which seems to last about a year if I don't run it through a car wash.

My newest car wash process goes as follows:
No rinse, followed by a full foam (bottom to top) using the foaming surface wash. I let it sit for about 5 minutes and then starting from top to bottom, I agitate it using a wash mitt. I then rinse it from bottom to top. I then foam it from bottom to top using foaming poly gloss. I let it sit for 2-3 minutes and then rinse it off. I then blow off most of the water using my leaf blower and dry the rest of it with a microfiber towel. It is amazing how good it looks after this wash process, and it only takes 25-30 minutes including setup and cleanup. About once a month, I start off with a full tire and wheel cleaning.

I'm lucky enough to live about 35 minutes from the Griot's Garage HQ in Tacoma. They have lots of car shows both inside and in their parking lot on many Saturdays. Whenever I've had a challenge in figuring out how to solve a detailing problem, I found that you can call them and get the help needed quickly.

My Telluride is really dirty right now - we just had two weeks of colder than normal weather and I had the flu on top of that. I'm feeling better now and the weather is warming up enough that I hope to get it washed one of the next couple of days.
