• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... If you’re like me and have been looking for a cellphone holder option that didn’t involve sticking something onto your dash, I have found a great option for you. It sits in the cup holder and doesn’t completely occupy the cup holder! It still allows me to see the screen like I want (I know I don’t need to due to Car Play but I like the option). I took it on a 16hr road trip and it worked perfectly.
I was able to fit a large coffee and large Mountain Dew in the cup holder with no problems. Amazon link below.
Side note: has anyone else been mesmerized at the glowing of a Mtn Dew bottle in the cup holder at night?

Nice, it looks like it would hold one with a large battery case as well. I'm definitely checking this out.

The link goes to a different non amazon site could you tell me the name of this item please. It's exactly what I'm looking for. I will try the Mt. Dew effect when mine comes in.

No, that's just you 🤠 PS: I just ordered this one from Amazon, but I like the option you found - makes sense to not use up the entire cup holer. Fortunately, I don't use cups much - just bottled water mostly and I like to use that litte bottle holder in the door.

It’s not a cup holder stand, but this is working really well for me especially with the wireless CarPlay adapter. It also frees up the Qi charger for someone without a MagSafe phone.

@bcjenkins - That looks to be a useful tool; how well does the wireless CarPlay adapter work, and where did you get that item?

I use the CPlay2Air adapter and there is another one as well. Both are linked in this post Little nits just for fun.

What I like about the other one is that the cable is detachable which means I could easily replace it with something else to route it differently if I wanted to. However, I first read about the CPlay2Air on a Mac site which is how they earned my money.

It works really well for me, I get in the vehicle and it connects right up with my phone in my pocket. The GPS signal is severely dampened which is why I take it out. I also like the magnet and can orient my screen portrait or landscape as needed.

If I don’t need my GPS, I usually leave the CarPlay screen up and use the vehicle’s map screen on the right side to have the music and a map running at the same time. It’s nice to not have to take the phone out. If you buy one, make sure to keep the firmware updated. It wasn’t always a smooth connection in the beginning.
