• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Anyone else have this issue? My kids (who are old enough to not need a child lock on the door) are constantly asking me to unlock the doors because I keep hitting the child door lock button without realizing it. I think it probably happens just by resting my arm on the armrest or something. It's a very low force button so it's just super easy to press accidentally. Really wish this button was in a different spot.

Thinking about popping the panel out and simply disconnecting the wire harness from the button. The ultimate first world problem, I know.

I've got the same issue...of course that is only when the wife lets me drive it. Disconnecting the button sounds like a fairly easy fix. That or is there a separate fuse for it (no idea on this, just a thought).

Where is the button

Same here. Curious if anyone has found an easy fix.

I was doing this all the time as well - was happening when I was hitting the side view mirror open/close button when entering/exiting my garage. Once I became aware of how I was doing that, I changed my approach on hitting the side view mirror button and I'm no longer hitting the child lock button. With that said, I agree that it's way too easy to hit and I think they should change that to a slider switch in the future.

I had accidentally hit the child lock button also. I am claustrophobic, and I got in the back seat to try to make some changes. I closed the door. I was unable to get out of the car. I am disabled and reaching the driver seat controls was not happening well. Fortunately I was able to lay on the horn and my wife eventually came out and freed me from the car. This can't happen again! No kids... Need to turn this feature off permanently!
