• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hi, I ordered my telly but still waiting for it. Thinking ahead how to keep it up as I plan to keep it for a long time.

I have a 2018 sorento and just noticed yesterday rusting on the muffler, not small not big but moderate amount.

I'm from California, and moved to Texas few months ago, so that's concerning its rusted in sunny California where it barely rains. I haven't looked all the way up under.

My question is how do I go about getting the undercarriage cleaned? Do car washes do it or have to go to a detail shop?

Will rust protection be an option I should do?

I mostly wash my own car but I sometimes go to the car wash, never noticed if it does the undercarriage though.

Let me know. Thanks

It's probably some surface rust. All cars have it but I wouldn't worry about it. Most of the issues with the exhaust system happen on the piping not the muffler anyway.
