• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Yes, CR. I bought it 2 weeks ago, so current issue. It's also interesting to see how much lower the Palisade scored than the Telluride.
I have the Telluride SXP since January 2020 and I would love to see the write up about the Palisade and why CR scored it a lot lower than the Telluride if you can post that too as I would like to read why CR scored it so much lower if you have the time. Thanks!

3 words. Push. Button. Shifter. (Speculation but that's what did it for me)

The push button shifter, the power second row seats and that front end, ugh.

I agree with you that the push button shifter (Shift by Wire) was a deal breaker for me and one of the reasons I went with the Telluride instead of the Palisade. The other reasons were the all 4 automatic up/down windows, power folding side mirrors, and the manual fold 3rd row seats as the power ones in the Palisade are so slow. I did like the digital dash in the Palisade but I could not stand the tachometer needle going counter clockwise instead of clockwise so that sealed the Telluride for me 😁 .

Ok will try to capture it all on phone later tonight when I get home.

You'll have to test drive Atlas for yourself, but entering the interstate highway from an onramp, the Atlas I test drove had no power to get on the highway at speeds of moving vehicles. If you can't see these well send me email and I'll email you the pics. Atlas placed last in it's category for 3 row SUV. Volvo is in a separate category because of price point.

Thanks so much! This is very helpful! I'm slowly wearing my wife down to give me the thumbs up on the Tride

Here is the CR writeup on the Telluride, as well as a direct comparison against the Palisade.

Thank you for this.
After review of the comparison between the two, the big stand out to me is the breaking distance between the two vehicles. I wonder if this is more tire than anything - Kia sports Michelins vs Hyundai's Bridgestones. I just don't see much REAL difference other than that.

Yes - Tires make a big difference. The fact that the SX gets the Michelins is one of the reasons I wanted that trim.

@MarcinTexas , this interests me! While tires DO make a huge difference, I don't think I've ever said 'no' to a vehicle because of the stock tires. When comparing the two vehicles, I don't think we would have eliminated the Palisade just because of Hyundai's tire choice. I wonder how many others out there use this as a factor in selection. Of course, now thinking about it, I don't know why I WOULDN'T consider it - when I buy a new set of tires, I research the HECK out of them. A tire is not JUST a tire.
BTW, you mention the SX gets Michelins. Does anyone know the tire on the EX-P (20")? I don't think they were Michelin, but as I just mentioned, I didn't even consider the tires.

The Michelins (and AWD) did amazingly well in a major downpour during a recent road trip. No hydroplaning. Great tracking.

So I was wrong - the FWD SX doesn't get the Michelins. You have to get the AWD LX, EX or SX to get Michellins. This is what I could find from KIA:

LX FWD - 245/60R18 Pirelli / AWD - 245/60R18 Michelin
S FWD - 245/50R20 Pirelli / AWD - 245/50R20 Pirelli
EX FWD - 245/60R18 Pirelli / AWD - 245/60R18 Michellin / Premium Package FWD&AWD 245/50R20 Pirelli
SX FWD - 245/50R20 Pirelli / AWD - 245/60R20 Michelin / Prestige - 245/60R20 Michelin

I assume the Nightfall package gets the Michelin's as well - but I couldn't confirm.

I hear so many people talk about the thing they don't want to pay for in the prestige package or SX...but the combined value proposition is just incredible. And yes - you have to factor the tires into the overall value. I am not a fan of Pirelli. The fact that AWD gets you the Michellin tires is a win in my book.

@MarcinTexas , this is good data. I thought I had seen pirellis some where, but didn’t want to say it and be wrong.

Though the premium and prestige packages are not one in the same, find it interesting that the premium package still gets pirellis.

@zamboni and @MarcinTexas to both of your points, I was never a fan of pirelli either and I’d argue that Michelin sells some of the best all weather tires out there. Our daily 4cyl FWD Equinox SUV has Michelin Latitudes, Michelin’s pride and joy. Expensive tire but They’ve always handled extremely well

The 2020 Premium package got the Michelins. I wonder why they would change.

I think the above sizes for SX AWD and SX Prestige are Incorrect?? I believe they are the same same size as SX FWD. 245/50/20.
