• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Has anyone installed Dash Camera in their Telluride?

I was about to install the Rexing V3 today but I need to find a tap/adapter for the hard wire kit since the one that came with the kit is a mini fuse.

REXING V3

Smart Hard Wire Kit

Here's some images of the lower dash panel removal and where/how I installed the dash cam wire. Pretty easy install I just need to locate the correct fuses right now for constant power and on/off power. I thought I had them located but the parking monitor feature is telling me I need constant power for it to be enabled still even with the fuse location I chose. Could be the camera itself as well but I bought fuse taps and had to modify the smart wire kit to fit the micro fuse.

Another post in another thread said there was only one screw to remove the lower panel but there are actually two screws, one is hidden behind the side panel. I didn't remove any other panel besides the lower dash panel, I just tuck the wires into/behind the weather strip and pillar cover.

@tops how did you get the wire behind the airbag on the a pillar?

If you can provide instructions for removing the pillar that would be greatly appreciated!

I did not remove the pillar, but I believe the pillar is held on by a couple clips which I couldn't get it to come loose and I was pulling pretty hard so I didn't want to risk breaking anything since I had just gotten the car the week before I installed the camera.

I used some plastic pry tools to get a small gap between the trim and the pillar and just pushed the wires back. The wires aren't thick so I didn't have to use too much force to get the gap wide enough. It probably took me all of a minute to get the wires behind the pillar. The top part of the pillar is pretty tight and can get tricky so just take your time to get the wire back there.

Trim removal kit I bought for just working on cars and some things around my house (plastic seems very durable, haven't had any issues):

Concealing the wires took less time then tapping into the fuse and making sure I got the connection right. Hope that helps, I'm happy to answer any other questions you have!

@tops thanks for the reply. Just did the install myself and I ended up pushing on the a pillar trim and was able to get it pulled off. Definitely scary but once it came off I was able to get my wife's tucked behind the airbag. After that I was able to push the pillar back in place and heard a satisfying click. Looks like I was never there.

Hope this helps others.
