If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... My local dealer has an added sticker beside the Telluride window sticker with a $6,000 add on. I decided to not even take the vehicle for a test drive as this seems, at best unfair.
Is this common practice for Kia dealers? I have no issue paying document fees etc. but a $6,000 dealer add on?

Sadly it is common practice. It is more prevalent in some areas of the country than others. Where are you located?

Many have found dealers that are willing to sell and/or order at MSRP. MSRP is a great target and very attainable with a little knowledge and work.

You will find a great deal of information to assist you on this site. Start by browsing the threads in the various sections of the forum and use the Search function at the top right of the site to find specific information.

This "Three Different Ways..." thread is a great one to read.

Thank you, I live in Toledo Ohio. I will scan the threads for more information regarding buying at MSRP.

Try Kia in Sandusky if you're up for the drive. According to forum member dealer is not charging markup

Great thank you.
I will
I think he is referring to Halleen Kia of Sandusy. They seem to be active on FB advertising MSRP. VanDevere in Akron is another that may sell at MSRP.

We got a price at msrp today and will be putting down a deposit tomorrow at Lafontaine Kia in Dearborn Michigan. He mentioned that they sell at msrp while other dealers are doing markups. In fact, another dealer that had one on the lot listed it at $3000 over msrp and offered it to me for $2000 over. We are ordering a build. Dearborn isn’t that far from Toledo.

Very common unfortunately like others have said. Dealer closest to me has a $7k dealer options mark up. They keep calling and emailing me and I give them the same answer every time. Get me what I want at or below MSRP and we can talk. Otherwise I'm ordering from a dealer out of town

just FYI, document fees are another known area where dealers scam customers. That and marketing fees, the nitrogen-filled tires scam and many others..

I replied but will update that we just came home with our order. They get a lot of people from Toledo at their Dearborn Michigan dealership. They have someone coming from Oregon and have been storing a Telluride for 4 months for someone overseas. Msrp pricing, they have plenty of allotment. Ask for Anthony Trupiano at LaFontaine KIA and tell him Janet Browne sent you, I’ll get a referral fee!

Lafontaine website states their market adjustment on top of MSRP…

My experience was 18 months ago, before the current crunch of auto availability in general, so not surprising! Mine was a factory order as well, though in the end I got mine off the lot through another dealer and negotiated something below cost on a November 30 (end of month) deal. My husband is facing replacing his 13 year old car before too long, and will be stuck in this same seller’s market!
