Other contributing factors would be metropolitan areas or high market interest (ie. AWD in northeast). Higher allotment/allocation dealers will be able to fulfill more orders per month and receive more inventory. There is a catch though, if a bunch more people are in line for orders at one dealer, this will still result in long waits until you will get your car.
Find out the trim you want, look at how many units of that same trim the dealer you are interested in sells per month. Find out how many are in line for the trim you want at that dealer. This will give you an idea of how long the wait will be.
2) No way to tell from failcat or on the dealer websites. Only can find out by asking the dealer over the phone or in person. Remember not to mention failcat website when you do.
