If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hi so I’m looking to purchase the Telluride and I want one with the tow package. One dealer said they have the vehicle I want but without the tow package but they could add the tow package at the dealership. Can someone tell me if the tow package from factory vs tow package add on from dealership is a big difference? Has anybody got the add on done at dealership? Thanks

At the factory, somebody named Michael installs it on your car.

At the dealership, somebody named Thomas installs it on your car.

Probably about as much as it differs.

You should verify that the dealer installed package includes self leveling suspension. Probably not, and that would be the difference for the most part.

Which is a big difference. Adding a tow hitch might be all you need, but for them to call it the tow package is very incorrect

I see…that is a big difference. They didn’t mention anything about the suspension. Thanks!

Following this thread as well. I asked my sales person about this just yesterday and she said they could add at the dealership for about $950, but she did not specifically mention the suspension. I just assumed it was a part of the installation.

The factory tow package includes self leveling suspension. The dealer can only add a hitch.
