  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... So originally I wanted a telluride (family of 6), but with current gas prices I decided on the Sorento S hybrid. Liberty Kia in Libertyville, IL had one listed at MSRP $35,605. So we made an offer and heard nothing, so I called. Great, but now they are going to charge 47,800 for that vehicle. That’s over $12,000 over MSRP. His response was absolutely because we can.🤯. I called the consumer affairs department of Kia and they are trying to find one dealer that isn’t, but any recent dealerships that are being decent I would love to hear it.

Welcome! Sorry to hear of these challenges. It's tough buying a "wanted" vehicle these days...

I had the same Experience with my Telluride. They upped the price about $10000 because it is a highly sought after vehicle. I think it's completely unfair to consumers for that much of a mark up. Best of luck to you but I don't think you will find a dealer that isn't taking advantage of the prices at this time.

FWIW: Classic Kia in Waukegan is doing a $1,995 markup on Tellurides if you finance with them or $2,995 if you pay cash. (they used to be straight MSRP orders, but changed their practice). Otherwise, it is standard taxes and fees. No hidden "addendum."

They have two inbound Telluride LXs available (one of which is my "second attempt" vehicle). Pretty confident that inventory on their website has not been spoken for. No hybrid models listed however, and my salesman, John Plewka, said they have only ever had 1 Sorento PHEV come through their doors.

Also, I've only had the Telluride a short time, but gas mileage has been better than anticipated. Highway mpg has been getting 28 mpg fairly regularly. Facebook group regularly posts about Telluride getting 30 mpg. City driving is about what was expected.

The lower trims for Telluride are certainly a value proposition. I was stunned at how nice the syntex seats feel and how nice the navigation system is. Also, Telluride has better third row and cargo space compared to the Sorento. Where exactly will you put all the luggage that you need for 6 people in the Sorento?
