• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hi All, this is my first post here. I wanted to share a pic of my drivers side front seat. I have a 2021 SX Nightfall Edition. Picked it up almost two years ago. It has just under 18k miles on it. At first I noticed the seat leather was looking kind of wrinkled and now I see the non-leather material at the bottom is pulling away. The passenger side seat is in perfect condition. Today, I noticed the firmness of the seat seemed unusually soft and checked the passenger side seat which was very firm. This seems like a defective seat to me. I'm wondering what others think and if anyone else is seeing this kind of problem. I'm also wondering if contacting KIA would help, and if so, who to contact regarding this issue.

I would be very surprised if they consider that a defective seat. Higher profile vehicles of all makes have that issue with seats because we are sliding across the edge when we enter and exit the vehicle. I would contact a local upholstery shop and see if they can rebuild it for you at a reasonable cost. My 2020 Durango (leather) did the same same thing and so did my wife's 2018 Wrangler (cloth).

I actually have reached out to a local upholstery shop but I have to take it in for them to validate they can fix the issue. Based on pictures of custom work they have done I am pretty sure they can fix it and maybe even add some customization to make the seat look even better. I expect this won't be cheap. I just wanted to see if others have that issue. My last car with almost 90k miles (Honda Pilot) showed some wear but never fell apart like this.

Note that the presence or absence of Nightfall is irrelevant to any issue involving the seats. It may be relevant whether you have an SX or an SX Prestige, because that determines the kind of leather you have ("regular" or Nappa). Your seat in the photo looks like Butterscotch. If that's correct, it would mean that this is the standard Kia leather. I don't know whether that helps to point toward an answer, but it's good to know.
