• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I've noticed that when exiting the vehicle and touching the door handle to lock the doors there is a significant delay to get the doors to lock. Very annoying. Any ideas? Is there a setting to lock and unlock the instant you press the door handle?

Mine lock immediately using the door handle button ('23 EX). How long of a delay are you experiencing?

Just went into garage with key fob in pocket. Mirrors folded out as I walked up to car and unlocked before I even touched the handle. Started the car and then shut if off. Closed door. Grabbed handle and after 6 seconds finally locked. This can't be right.

Do you have a 2023 SX? If so, make sure you fully understand how the door handle works on that model.

There are two different capacitive touch sensors on the handle. The one inside the door handle (like where you would touch when you pull the handle) unlocks the door. The indentation on the outside rear of the handle (where the physical button used to be on older models) is where you press to lock the vehicle.

Sometimes people grab the handle in a way that touches both sensors at the same time and confuses the vehicle, causing unexpected and inconsistent results. So make sure you’re explicitly touching the appropriate sensor for the action you’re wanting.

^^You nailed it bruesjoh04. Went out again and the car really unlocks before even touching anything on the handle. After starting and stopping the car got out and hit the outside recessed button only and it locked within 2 seconds. Yes, I have the SX-P. Thank you

This must be a higher-level trim feature? (Not on the S?) I didn't see it in the spec compare sheet but mine I believe only have a button, no sensor.

This is exclusively on Tellurides that support digital key (that’s the 2023 SX and up). All other Tellurides, including older models, have the physical door button only. No capacitive sensors.
