In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Deposit placed almost 9 months ago and still waiting for our order to go into KFOS…

I am frustrated, to say the least. We placed a deposit late last May at what we now understand to be a low-volume dealer (Frank Boucher in Racine, WI). The dealer estimated that we’d receive the car 3-9 months after we placed the deposit, and that estimate changed to 6-8 months at some point last summer or fall. I kept talking myself out of placing another deposit somewhere else last fall because I figured we’d get good news any day. In November, the dealer was telling us with confidence we’d have the vehicle around the new year, so again, I didn’t want to place a new deposit/order somewhere else, but of course now we’re still waiting. The order has not been picked up by Kia into KFOS.

I feel like I’ve been swindled…I have been reading this forums since last summer and understand that the timing isn’t really in the dealer’s control, but 9 months and not even an order in to Kia? We test drove a Telluride a few times last spring and summer, and as much as I love the car and have really been looking forward to it, this is really souring me on Kia. Is it time it consider another car??

Is the deposit refundable? I placed a deposit yesterday with a dealership (10 month estimate) and joked with the salesman that hopefully I call in a week to cancel because I found a car with instant availability. He laughed and said I hope you do too, it’s no problem at all.

The dealers don’t care, if you cancel they will continue with the order then just sell it on the spot when it shows up. We are helpless and just hope the dealer is not playing games with our orders. I noticed a uptick in vins being issued so maybe production is picking up? but for anyone just now thinking of ordering one- I would order one from a couple dealers then which ever shows up first cancel the other order.

I found a dealer here in NY through failcat that is getting like 40 orders a month. they want $5k in markup. Why is Kia not adjusting allocation based on which dealers are hitting MSRP?

Same here. At this point most MSRP dealers in my area are now quoting 6months, so does it matter.

Because kia doesn’t care what price dealers sell at

I’m so sorry- how frustrating! I also ordered in early May from Frank Boucher Kia (Racine) and was quoted 6-8 months. They are very low volume. Mine was picked up in early November and delivered end of January. I had a EX AWD P/T. They haven’t had many show up in failcat recently. Not sure what is going on. Good luck to you.

Not a refundable deposit. We spent some time looking at other cars, and called some other Kia dealers and were kind of politely laughed at when we inquired about available Tellurides (that wasn't unexpected). So, I guess for now, we'll keep waiting...our order was initially placed for a 2021 model year, then quickly rolled over to 2022. Maybe by the time we receive the car it'll be a 2023 🤪😭

Don't mean to pour salt in the wound, but I wouldn't place a deposit that was non-refundable. Too many things can go wrong.

Lesson learned, for sure. If we could go back in time, we would have done a few things differently!

I placed an order with them in Jan and was told my deposit was refundable?
