• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hello all,

I've scoured the threads multiple times, and the main driver for me is that people are reporting the wheel setup below works with minimal issues. That said, I'm looking to change things up a bit regarding rim width and back spacing. Please take a look at the below and share your thoughts. Cheers!

Setup Reported to Work Successfully
RIM:
  • 20x9 with +35 offset
TIRE:
  • 275x45xR20

With the above said, here's what I'm thinking of running. I think it will work. What do you think?

Potential Setup
RIM:
  • 20x9.5 with +40 offset (difference is .5 in more rim width and +5 offset)
TIRE:
  • 275x45xR20 (same tire)

My Research
  • The 20x9 with +35 offset on 275x45 tires seems to work fine. Or at least from what I've read
  • There is only 1.3mm additional poke in the rim going to a 9.5 with +40 offset
  • Measuring the back space to the suspension, I should have plenty of room there. The additional inner rim will be 11.3mm closer to the strut
  • Looking at will they fit, the outer edge of the tire seems to sit the same as the 20x9 by +35 offset wheel
Major Concerns
  • At full suspension comprehension the front outer portion of the tire (i.e. poke) will hit the frame/fender of the car.

*If anyone cares, I was looking at the Enkei XM9 20x9.5. I know they make an 8.5 but I'm shooting for the 9.5

Incase anyone is interested, the wheel/tire combo works great. Zero rubbing after a few weeks.
