• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Good morning! We are going to be on the outer banks next week. I know the sand at the ramp entrances and can pretty soft and rutted. We recently purchased a 21 Telluride S and were hoping to take it on the beach. I see mixed comments about driving on the beach and was hoping to see if anyone had specifically driven their Telluride on the Outer Bank beaches and if they would recommend it or not. Thank you!

Just take your tire pressure down to 15psi and have a place to refill nearby. I took a 2009 Honda Pilot on the beach every year. If it made it, so will the Telluride.

Tire pressure definitely the key. Also type of sand and weather conditions. Almost any car can drive on sand from the high tide point. Dry sand with ruts is another story. I've done landcruisers and Highlanders with no problems but almost got an MDX stuck. The suspension on the telly is soft so expect a lot of bouncing. I've got beach to drive on where I'm located and will find out this summer.
