  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... 2020 telluride no trailer brake lights

why could’t I splice the brake light wires behind the rear light panel to a second set of led low voltage brake lights? That way I can put those light on the trailer.

Kia has placed a removable panel that houses the wiring for the trailer under the car behind the driver side rear wheel. You just need to get a wiring harness that plugs into it

Read my post on the other thread, just tap into the other side of the vehicle harness. It's the same thing as splicing into the light panel, just a whole lot easier.

Thank you Telly for your help. I am not an electrician and when it come to cat wiring I am lost. I am just try to use my trailer. So I will need to have two led lights placed some where on the trailer an two wires and a ground for each light.I don’t see how I can do that from the trailer connector on pin 4

What I'm saying is that instead of you pulling off half the plastic on the back to get to the light wiring and tap in there, all the wires you need are on the vehicle side of where the tow harness you tried to get working connected to.

I still don't understand why the Curt 4-pin tow harness doesn't work.

Yes i have running lights and signals lights just no brake lights for the trailer. Maybe it was not wired to that connector

That's what I'm trying to explain, if you look at that connector on the vehicle side the thicker black wire is ground on pin #6, count over 2 on the top row and the stop lamp wire is the one you need on pin #4. If there is no wire on that connector then you have bigger problems with your vehicle's wiring harness.

A properly operating Curt 4-pin harness should work and if not it comes with a warranty.

This part will also work from Tekonsha:

if you aren't using the tow harness 2 splices into the wire on the other side
