If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Dare I ask anyone to post what a KIA employee might pay for a Telluride SX? You can message me if you'd like to keep it private.
Only ask because I was emailed a special offer from a local dealer yesterday and it did not exclude the Telluride in the language of the offer and there were ZERO disclaimers in the email so naturally I called. After being blown off by a salesman I was told by a sales manager that email was a "misprint" and they would not honor employee pricing on a Telluride.
After speaking with the GM he called me back and said he'd give me "five hundred bucks off". Lol I asked him is that what he'd get off any KIA model is five hundred dollars?! I told him that was unethical business practices and should be reported. Gonna call KIA corporate to see if they can assist in holding the dealer to their promotion. Just trying to get an idea of an employee's actual price of the vehicle.

That's what I was figuring, close to invoice which is pretty well documented publicly by now.
KIA corporate employee I just spoke with was about as useful as the employees at the dealership. Lol
Said theres really nothing they can do but put in a complaint to the dealership and request they respond to it because dealerships are independently owned and operated. So basically corporate doesnt strictly hold them accountable for unethical practices is what I'm hearing. Was told a consumer can also go to our local "consumer assistance office" but by the time they get involved the dealer promotion will more than likely expire he said, which doesnt make sense, its ordering a vehicle the same you did last week and the same you'll do next week so not sure how they can't do the pricing any time.
Buying cars is fun! I think the second I said Telluride the guy in the call center shut down. Ha!

Is it worth speaking with a supervisor or am I spinning my wheels?

Listen, if they aren't willing to stand by what they sent you, I'd suggest moving on. Could you get somewhere fighting with them? Possibly. Is this a dealer you probably want to be dealing with? Probably not.

Here's the rest of it. No disclaimers or exclusions.
DruKe that's where I'm at with it. Say I get the deal but when the vehicle arrives they continue their practices in the finance office with additions and markups or whatever. May not be worth the fight.

Spinning your wheels. That is just a salesman sending a email blast to his pipeline.
The GM did the right thing and gave you $500 on a SX which isn’t discounted.
Every store is independently run. So employee pricing is not the same from one store to the next. Since a dollar amount wasn’t listed there is really nothing to stand on.

I would honestly be okay with them giving you the $500 off and not paying sticker or a markup

You're absolutely correct. They certainly would have gotten you for pinstriping or whatever all else. Huge documentation fees whatever. There are a lot of reputable dealers here on this site that will work with you on getting a good price which would include shipping to you. I had a great experience in ordering my Telluride in Sheboygan, WI - not sure if they ship but they are wonderful to work with and I got a great price (promised them not to say but it was REALLY good).

Why not share the dealership name so other forum members know the shady sale practices going on. Expose the clowns 🤡 !!!

Appreciate the insight and advice guys. Yea I've also got a quote from a reputable out of state dealer here using another auto program but its difficult due to our trade in vehicle. Was testing the waters locally and have gotten all types of information, such as this scenario here.

To sum it all up the Telluride is a $hit show right now and if you can order at sticker it's a great value. I'm sure future models will see a price increase for all that you get included with this vehicle. Find the dealer that is willing to work with you and not rake you over the coles on financing, add ons/fees, or your trade-in and be done with it.

Inappropriate at this time. Besides this is a common practice with every single dealer on the planet. They're just trying to get foot traffic into their building and hope you cave under the pressure once you're in the finance office. That's where the men are seperated from the boys. 😎

Really don't understand the hesitancy to reveal the name of the dealer. Isn't that what message boards are for?

Employee pricing is not allowed by KIA as of yet. Or are you referring to the employee of a individual store?

Yes Sir employees of a store. Like if you wanted to purchase one for personal use.

Youd get a 100 different ways it would be priced.

That email is a form email to generate foot traffic. "employee price" in the email is whatever the dealership owner says it is... there's no policy or definition by corporate. Just negotiate a price with the dealer - is it Miami Lakes?

Those emails mean nothing and are not a price quote that you can complain about. If you want to whine to corporate about it or the dealership... it's only your time to waste.

Dealership employees typically pay invoice, some brands like Chrysler for example have special incentives for employees. At this point I have 2 friends that work at Kia stores as salespeople and both paid MSRP for their Telluride. There isn't much margin on them to begin with, an "S" has around $1300 of markup, wheres a Honda Pilot could have 3k for example. I am in the car business

Thanks for the post. A lot of people don't seem to understand that and don't realize the small margin between invoice and MSRP compared to other manufacturers.
