• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Excessive oil consumption

So you got a new engine? Did they charge you anything?

And you are going to buy a 2027 Telluride even if they don't fix the oil consumption problem on the engines???
Yes they gave me a new engine and no they did not charge me anything. I do plan on buying the 2027. Unfortunately many car companies have many problems, but what i will say is i feel like i have gotten more for my money with this telluride!

I was changing oil every 4k -5k thru dealership. It's not the oil changes. It's the GDI engines. Most people are experiencing problem around 95k -100k according to the head technician at my Kia dealership who has replaced almost 100 engines now, including mine. Just in party year. Just wait. I hope it doesn't happen to you. But on my oil consumption test, I was down over 2 quarts in 978 miles, 2 weeks after oil was fully topped off.
Wow, so your oil change interval indicate that no one is safe, just a matter of time before the inevitable. Did the head technician share with you the typical culprit of the consumption? Is it due to the the carbon deposits in the valve stem? Or stuck piston ring? Or something else? I think frequent oil change helps with the latter and oil catch with the former. I think PCV valve also needs to be cleaned or replaced often, but I haven't touched that at all in my 70k miles.

I just think it's hit or miss. Because I did everything they always recommended in time and on time for oil changes, hell I just did the 95k service, but I did it at 93k cause I was already coming in for an oil change..
