Hello,
Thanks for letting me join. My name is Joe and I'm in the market for a Telluride 2020 with Towing package, Sunroof. Ive been 'trolling' the used classifieds and found a few. My bogey is $36K and under 20,000 miles. I have different stories on the Towing Package with Auto suspension etc, so I need some advice on what to look out for in that area.

2020 MY towing package comes with 4 pin connector where as 21's come with 7 pin. Depending on your needs that may be a deal breaker for you.

Checking on autotempest, there are few AWD EX with towing meeting your criteria listed between $36-$40k. With some shrewd negotiation, you may end up under your goal. Just know that Tellurides are in high demand and dealers don't tend to negotiate the price very much(if at all) on new. It might be a different story on an used one. Good luck!

Edit: If 2020 was like 21, Towing package with auto suspension was only offered on EX trim and up.

Thank you for the heads up! I’ll check autotempest out! I heard that the dealers are swapping out the 4 for 7 pin connectors; I’d rather the dealer swap it out for warranty sake. I had read elsewhere that towing on 2020 is 5000 & 2021 3500. Not that I would ever tow that much, just like the wiggle room.

My advice is to understand the difference between the towing option vs towing package. All over this forum people confuse the two. All you need is the tow option to tow to spec. The towing package has very questionable towing benefit and you are stuck with expensive suspension parts that may fail on you. Upgrading a 4-pin to a 7-pin on a 2020 is relatively straightforward with aftermarket parts if you need it. You can also add the towing option to any 2020 that didn’t come with it, but the same cannot be said for the towing package.

Max towing capacity is same for 2020 & 2021 at 5000lbs. I forgot to mention towing harness & wiring (4/7 pin) can be dealer installed on LX and S trim. Auto leveling suspension can not.
