  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... My local dealership isn’t taking orders, but they took a list of my specifications and are supposed to contact me when something is on the horizon. I got a text last week that one made it to the lot (wasn’t notified in advance), but within 30 minutes of my salesman first texting me, he texted again that it was sold because someone followed it in from the truck (?).

This prompted me to discover and look on Failcat and see what they do have coming in, and a VIN was created on 5/27 for one that checks my major boxes. I was told earlier in this week that they “possibly” had some coming and that they would put my name on it but never mentioned a deposit, which I know they require for holding. I checked again today and was told they don’t have any coming up. So my question is—do they really not know that one coming? Or are they just trying to keep me on the hook waiting instead of being more proactive and going someplace else to order? I also don’t know how to nicely call them out without revealing Failcat. My current car needs a $2k repair, so I’m unfortunately in a position where getting something sooner rather than later is a better option for me.

Failcat is not a secret. dealers know about it.

You need to talk to the right person. Someone at the dealership knows what is coming. Could be the salesperson is too lazy to ask up the chain...
