Failcat and orders

Hey everyone,

I wanted to ask about how things work as maybe I am not understanding it correctly. On July 16th I asked my dealer what number I was and he told me that I was number two on their list. Since then on many different days there has been failcat orders for 9 different tellurides through my dealership on 7/21, 7/23, 7/25 and none of them match the one I am ordering. Since I pre-ordered in late may I was told I was #29 on their list and from June on 48 telluride's have been filed through my dealer but not mine. Am I missing something?

You're probably #2 on the list in Kdealer to be picked up by KFOS for manufacture. The nine Tellurides you see are from the 28 people in front of you who were picked up for manufacture in prior KFOS openings.

Yours will be the 2nd order they put in the next time they can put in an order. Then, your car will be built in probably a month or so and then probably 2-5 weeks for delivery.

Trim level could be a factor here. If most orders specify SX AWD, and the dealership earns only 6 of those per month, then it could take several months to get to yours.

Of those 48, many were in the queue and picked up by KFOS before you even placed your order. Failcat only shows built orders. The ones showing up were already picked up by KFOS and were not counted in the "position 29" that you were given because they had been already removed from KDealer. You should be picked up the next time KFOS opens and then you should receive and estimated delivery date of 30 to 60 days out from then. If you aren't sure what KDealer and KFOS are, there are threads explaining the whole process.

You're probably looking at Oct delivery which, at about 5 months is a pretty average wait time.

Yeah just got excited thinking I might get it earlier than expected when he said I was number 2 and then saw all these other orders and didn't understand. Thanks for all the info everyone!

I feel you; I was #1 in line for their 22's, and not just #1 waiting to be put into KFOS. They stated I was accepted in KFOS as their first 22, on 6/21. Since then, they've had 4 other SXs show up in failcat.

How long after your order was excepted in KFOS did you receive an ETA?

I received an ETA right when it was accepted in KFOS (as everyone should), but it was all the way out in September. I think the dealer just made it up, and perhaps I wasn't actually accepted

Mine was accepted 2 weeks ago into KFOS and the dealer still has no ETA for me. Isn’t on Failcat yet either. I thought it was a bit odd that others get the ETA so quickly and I’ve got nothing yet.

Within a couple of days of KFOS closing, you should have gotten an estimated delivery date. Maybe your salesman doesn't know how to find it. You might have to talk to someone higher up.
